in football there are strict rules on concussion
Today Smith was hit full on under helmet and it laid him out.
Yet after a long conversation to get him to come off, he returned a few minutes later and played on
    Surely that cannot be right
The guy could have had a blood clot or other serious injury, and without a proper medical he surely should not have been allowed back on

Not sure what you’re referring to. They don’t have a player called Smith.

Solly went down with a head injury, but he got subbed off. Don’t remember another head injury, but could be wrong.

I hope he was talking about cricket because the O/P said “the player got hit on the helmet.” If that refers to a football player, it’s difficult to think of a more painful or debilitating injury!

Just watched the highlights of today's play in the Second Test. Smith was very lucky that he wasn't seriously injured.
He underwent all the checks for concussion and was apparently given the all clear.

Smith also suffered a further injury when he was struck on the arm by a particularly vicious delivery. Apparently Archer
reached speeds approaching 96 mph, so although Smith came back to resume his knock, it was no surprise really
when he didn't take to the field at the start of England's second innings.

Be interesting to see how it goes tomorrow and whether England can establish a good lead declare and then have
a go at getting the Aussies out. Personally I think it will end in a draw, but after this performance, hopefully England
might be able to take some confidence into the Third test.

What I've seen of this test series is England v Smith and Smith is winning by a country mile although he's a proven cheat.
