It was an obvious penalty. It was Diaby's fault although Andersen and Williams didn't deal with the threat from our left. And it only cost us 2 points.
We don’t get penalties. Last season we were 22nd in the league in penalties awarded to us, and 2nd in goals scored. It doesn’t even itself out.
And another thing.... Corner to us second half Their player literally lifted one of our player’s shirts from his back so you could see his sports bra thing..think it was against Anderson It’s a penalty, no question.
But I seem to recall we were high up on percentage of shots taken from outside the box. So statistically speaking if we don't play into the box as often the chances of getting a penalty are probably lower.
Life is much better when you ignore the referee. Everyone around me was complaining about him today. I didn't notice him and never do. We're biased, we think we get badly treated. We don't. I'll get called names for this and be given numerous examples, but you're wrong. How do I know you're wrong? Because supporters of every team believe they get a raw deal from officials. And that's impossible. Don't let the referee wind you up. He's human, he makes mistakes, as many that favour you as don't. Just forgive him.
In the championship we haven't had one at Oakwell since October 2016. Winnall missed it vs Bristol City. I don't expect that to change on today's evidence.
I used to go to matches expecting a football match. Over the last 6 or so years I go expecting a match and a clown show. Thats why i never complain about ticket prices. It really is only 20 quid for the football these days, its just extra for the circus act.
Sit down. I understand referees can make mistakes but the one yesterday was horrific. One rule for one & all that.
I don’t think it’s a question of bias, it’s a question of competence, in particular being conned by cynical gamesmanship. His job is to see through that. I would love to be able to ignore the ref and hats off to you for being able to do that, but I can’t. The *******.
Its part if our modern game, like it or not, that some teams can play the ref much better than others. We have a very inexperienced team and cant/dont. Charlton today (as ever) showed they can/do.
Linesman was shocking today too (west stand side) just waited for ref to tell him what to do then put his flag up. Even for throw ins when he was stood next to ball he looked to ref. Ref was awful today tho one of worst weve had for ages. Charton played him like a fiddle.
Indeed he was A particular favourite moment of mine was when no one had any idea who’s throw it was. Both lino and ref stood there like lemons Charlton player wrestled the ball off our lads to take the throw, takes it and then a moment later the ref points in the direction of a Charlton throw, essentially allowing their players to ref the game !
