You're spot on. Just visited the Charlton forum and there's a lot of comments about how the referee was biased against them
You really are blindfolded sometimes, how you can say you don’t notice the ref when he was so blatantly inconsistent. He was looking straight at our penalty claim and instantly ruled it out. Terrible decision.
Perhaps you ought to have mentioned their first 5 fouls on Maria Wilks alone in the first 13 minutes,
But you said you don’t notice them, how can you not when he doesn’t hesitate to book players from one side for similar type of offences that players from the other side committ. Some of their persistent offenders didn’t get booked till late in the game
Doubt that would have changed their perception. Every fan sees the game through the prism of their own bias
Because we get incorrect decisions in our favour too so what good does it do only highlighting those that go against us and ignoring those that go for us?
But even taking that into consideration you can’t deny the fact that he was inconsistent with the bookings alone. A guy sat at the side of me from Merseyside was over visiting friends and decided to take in the match. He was laughing at how the referee was being ‘conned’ his words by Charlton.
I’m not ignoring them at all, Did we target one of their players yesterday and foul him 5 times in the first 13 minute, like they did with Malik Wilks? Had at least one of them got yellow carded as he should’ve done, they would’ve been walking a tightrope for the rest of the game. Our first cynical foul rightly resulted in a yellow card, theirs didn’t and that theme continued throughout the game.
What point are you trying to prove? That referees get things wrong? I acknowledge that. My point in this thread is that by believing referees are biased against your team will only serve to wind you up and make life less enjoyable, and you're proving that wonderfully. Followers of every team believe they get the majority of poor decisions. That cannot possibly be right. So your argument is that the followers of other teams are all wrong but you're right. You're not, you're all wrong. Just let it go and concentrate on that magical bit of skill by Woodrow.
Really wound me up that the same player did it at least 3 times a booking after the 2nd time would have put a stop to that. The ref was poor and inconsistent throughout the game.
My point is yesterday’s referee was inconsistent with the way he treated the players. By not clamping down on the harsh treatment, particularly on Wilks, he gave them licence to continue doing it. Our first cynical foul brought about a yellow card. All our yellow cards were deserved yesterday, and. some were even first offences. However, a couple of their players who were at it all game only found themselves booked late in the game and some not even spoken to. I don’t have that wonderfully or any other way, it was the general consensus around me at the game and the talk in the pub last night. You can get off your high horse now if you want.
