    Has had his UK citizenship revoked. He had dual citizenship with Canada and the Canadians are reportedly going ballistic. Apparently, it’s illegal to make a person stateless, so it would appear we’ve beat them to it. Now he’s their problem.
    Perhaps a better option would have been for the UK to take the man who fought against his own country and it’s allies back, charge him with treason, and after being found guilty, which he surely is, invoke the (as far as I know) never used but still on the statute books sentence of capital punishment.

    The queue of ISIS fighters wanting to return will surely shorten, and Canada will be more open to giving us a good trade deal after Brexit.
    Referendum anyone?

    1. the OP has the wrong name I assume he is referring to Mr Jack Letts aka Jihadi Jack
    2. Treason no longer carries the death penalty

    pedanty over in general terms I agree we shouldn't dump our responsibilities on Canada or previously Bangladesh. Someone who is raised in the UK and radicalised in the UK is the UK's problem and finding legal tricks to dump them on another country who had nothing to do with their upbringing is just wrong. But I am so used to the Tory government doing the wrong thing to get good press in the Daily Mail and Sun I am beyond despair.
    Our international standing is just plummeting every day - We are desperate for a trade deal with Canada - so we dump one of our problems on them - great move
    Can you imagine if a person brought up in India with mixed Indian British parentage and dual citizenship but never living in the UK joined a terrorist organisation and India won the race to dump citizenship - we wouldn't be very happy and rightly so

    Folk who are against what ISIS do then start banging on about bringing back capital punishment...

    Reminds me of these middle class berks who say they're saving the world by using less plastic and going meat free...then they go out on a weekend and snort fifty quids worth of coke which directly funds terrorism.
