So now we are planning on ending free movement for EU citizens on day one. ******* ridiculous. I hope the ******* stupid, hypocritical brits that live in the EU but voted for Brexit get sent home and lose everything. It’s the least they deserve.

Obviously if you live in the EU but didn’t support Brexit, you have my upmost sympathy and I hope everything works out well for you.

Oh come on. Goldman Sachs have as much power over Brexit as loony Wetherspoons man. Less. Loony Wetherspoons man has milliions of gullible little Englanders being fed his diatribe with every gulp. I'm sure you could ask each of these people and they'd be unaware who Goldman Sachs even were.

It's a curious position to suggest business is the enemy (and it's all too common to hear the leave side positioning business as an enemy, or anyone else who disagrees with them really!) when actually, they simply want conditions to do what they do as well as they can do it. That really should be a voice that should resonate rather than be unjustly positioned as a voice trying to prevent "the will of the people" (another ridiculous vox pop).

I didn't miss it. My post to Austinho sums the position up. This continuous anti rhetoric of all that stand in the way of the great national lemmings event.

I work for a government department which is front and centre when dealing with imports, exports and the movement of people. I'm not a negotiator just someone who knows if we crash out it'll be extremely dangerous. The country isn't equipped, it'll be chaos. I know some folk won't mind that, but for sick people including children, the lack certain medications could be lethal. This isn't scaremongering it's fact.

The reason behind lack of medications is because the eu are already holding back medical supplies. In the event of a no deal they intend to multiply the price enormously on the supplies. Their intention is to create desperation for supplies that we will pay any price. Nice people the Europeans. (Source from a pharmacist)

Yes it's all the EU's fault, the way they forced us to leave. I hope they're happy now (shakes fist....)

Thanks for the rant, but your naivety on this surprises me. You don’t have to be the loudest shouter to influence things, you just need powerful puppets... look them up.

A leave voting pharmacist would say that and blame the E.U. it goes under the name of project fear, a bit like the detestable little pipsqueak Gove last week saying the E.U. are refusing to negotiate, desperate times for these numptys that are taking this country and its people into the quagmire and will blame anyone but themselves.

Yet my mate who is an Accountant for the NHS says there is no visibility of shortage of medicines and if the doors close there won’t be for some time. He says the real risk in this is the core products to make the medicines being held up meaning a potential shortage further down the road.
So you have a Pharmacist saying one thing and a NHS Accountant (he voted leave)saying another.

Disclaimer* He is of course generalising.

I don't think the OP said whether the pharmacist was a Leave voter at all.

No rant at all. Moderate ironic amusement at the sentiment that business is the enemy. How very dare business generate jobs and contribute taxation. Of course, business should surely welcome the devastation that is due to occur in a worst case scenario and just get on with it. How dare business wish for stable trading conditions.

Should we look at influence in a balanced fashion... there are a lot of very wealthy people who have personally benefitted from the leave result so far, and should the worst happen, will benefit much much more.

I'm sure you know this too, no?

Of course you would expect a responsible government to be stock piling medicines so allow us to cope with the disruption caused by a no deal.
Whilst the EU isn't perfect I don't for one moment believe they are deliberately withholding medicines as an agreed policy so they can charge extortionate fees when we leave - that's just not true but sounds like one of the many made up stories coming from the leave disinformation camp.

There are some medicines and in particular cancer treatments that have a very short shelf life - currently there is no problem as they freely flow through customs with everything else - but there is a very real risk - even admitted by the government, that in case of a no deal delays to the shipment of these as they get stuck in customs delays will cause loss of life.

The whole debate has been moved by the hardline brexiteers from leave Europe with trade deals in place to leave Europe at any cost and if they wont agree to our demands about the leave agreement any problems the UK suffers are the fault of the EU - its total lies but thats no longer a problem in our current political climate

And as various intelligent commentators and even a Torygraph Journalist have pointed out it can’t be a serious attempt at negotiation just an excuse for why the E U forced us into no deal

    Dear me.

What is worrying is that this is genuinely believed.

By pharmacist do you mean someone who dispenses drugs but in a more informal and outdoor setting?

This is the reason we need another referendum .
This post should be shown on every message board in the country .
The amount of misinformation, and scaremongering in this one post is staggering and proof if we leave the EU people need to answer for the lies they told .
