Looks like career over for the pair of them as nobody will want to touch them when they get sacked, if guilty.......
Made abit of a mess of his nose, if mellis had abit more fight in him on the pitch he would have had a better career.
Such a waste. Mellis was undoubtedly a talented player but never fulfilled his potential. If the stories are correct hard to see either player keeping their jobs at Mansfield. Of course there is always Fleetwood who could sign them but I doubt even Barton would want Mellis due to his on field attitude
He could end up at Fleetwood as Barton will be able to relate to attacking a teenage work colleague. Poor kid was supposedly only out to celebrate A levels results night.
18 is the legal age but most bars have "challenge 25" where if you're lucky enough to look under 25 they'll need to see your ID to serve you.
The most distasteful thing is that why else would men of 25 and 28 years of age be out on A-Level results night (a Thursday) other than to pick up drunken 18 year old girls? Sounds like he's finally self-sabotaged his career after years of going close.
Not defending mellis as his attitude stank and still seems to - but he hasn’t been found guilty of anything here, I believe magistrates passed the case to the crown for trial this month - and after Mansfield spoke to both players they sacked Donahue but only fined Mellis two weeks’ wages
I thought he was a waste of space when he was our player and nothing has happened to change my mind since he left. I've no time for players like him - bags of talent but no heart, commitment or desire to make the most of their talent.
Its such a waste - just think of the number of players with far less talent who put everything into maximising it and how good they would be had they been given his natural ability. I think he could have played in the Prem had he had the attitude of someone like Brown or Mowatt but he never fulfilled his potential - his loss I suppose
