    These were Walloons. Still mates with a couple of em on facebook. If anybody ever gets drinking with Belgiums steer clear of Qark. Went into Brussels for a night towards the end of the break, good night but strayed towards Moulembeek and that is a definate No No

    Generally, those with lower educational levels tend to have more right-wing views as they get older. This decreases with higher levels of education, and with kids having to stay in education until 18 and more going to university then it is less likely that they will develop those same right-wing views than the current older generations who left school at 14/16 and didn't go on to university.

    Well, we could align with Ireland in some kind of customs union but Ireland stays in the EU, the papers announce a big win and only the experts are any the wiser.

    We could just align with the EU, our friends and closest allies and our major trading partners in a customs union and trade agreement, have some free movement making it nice and easy to work anywhere or attract workers here... seems like a good idea to me

    And then he will blame the Irish for being difficult forcing us out with no deal and so its their fault when there is a border

    I thought our Brexit strategy under May was bad - though at least she behaved like a grown up - Now we really have a horror show worse than my worst nightmares over the last 3 years

    Still I am looking forwards to my ration book and occasional chlorinated chicken sandwich because everyone except the right wing Tories have been unreasonable

    There was a video of him on my msn feed earlier. I had the sound turned off but even then, just from his mannerisms and seeing his lips move, you could tell he was spouting rubbish. Does he actually possess a sensible, detailed policy on anything? I guess he knows he doesn't really need to to satisfy his base. Just meaningless sound bites and hot air.

    It still baffles me Farnham Red that U.K. citizens never saw the political project of the E.U. as a project for European strength, cooperation and peace, its all money, money, money it never registered with them why the E.U. won the Nobel Peace Prize. As a bloke entering my 70th year I fear for my children and grand-children and the sensible minded people of this country.

    No, the educational system in the UK equates lower educational levels with low intelligence.

    Generally, while there are exceptions, the more intelligent people will pass exams at GCSE and A levels, then go on to university. The most intelligent will graduate with good degrees and generally then complete post-graduate education, up to and including PhDs and achieve some form of discovery that improves our knowledge of our existence through research. So yes, I would say that Lord Winston (Labour peer) and Stephen Hawking (also a Labour supporter) are more intelligent that I am, you are, or anyone that leaves school without any qualifications.

    As an uneducated person who saw University as a colossal waste of time and a spectacular way of learning very little of true use whilst incurring eye watering levels of debt, I'm either an exception, or thick as mince ;-)

    There are different types of intelligence, aside from pure academia, and I have to say I've met more than enough stupid educated people. That's not to say all educated people are idiots, or that all people with minimal qualifications are a form of undiscovered genius either.

    While I understand what you're trying to get at, I don't think education and intelligence go as closely hand in hand as much as you initially think. Just a personal view as someone who neither has, nor values a degree.
