This is a bit of a strawman, no? How do we know the combined wages of those two squad players would cover the wages of the more experienced pro?
I believe you are right but what about when we sell a player? Last January we were on a great run of form January window comes and one of our most influential players is sold with 2 and half year on his deal for less than 2million, we then brought in green from yeovil, luckily jacob brown stepped up and replaced potts on the wing. We got lucky that browny stepped up but we weakened the squad that window and it could have cost us. I doubt stendel said to paul Conway "Potts is on fire this season who don't we sell him and replace him with green from yeovil"
Have the owners actually spent a penny? Did they take a loan out against the club to buy it? Have they took out further loans against the club for transfers? Genuine question, believe they did at Nice.
The owners could have bought the club on borrowed money but that money, at the time of the purchase, could not have been secured on the club's assets. Subsequently, early July, the club have taken out a debt facility with Barclays. Until the new accounts are released the size of the facility is not known outside of the club and the lender.
I’m amazed with the amount of people in the know on this forum about people’s wages etc that no-one knows
I very much doubt it, whatever they say in public. I remember the head coach role in this model being described as easily replaceable.
