Gibbs Hill is interesting isn't it... Owners and trainer must see something after 2 years out but was very dissapointing after the gamble last run.

A fairly pitiful 2/6 yesterday. To work!

    1.50 Wissahickon
    2.25 First In Line
    3.40 (Ebor) Withhold/Ben Vrackie

    Very interesting speculative bet:
    2.40 Goodwood: ALPINISTA (5/1)
Once-raced owner-bred Frankel filly for Sir Mark Prescott. Won by 2.5 lengths in a good time (fast closing sectional) at Epsom with plenty in hand. Has Group 1 and Group 2 entries and could be anything. Dascombe's filly sets the standard, but Alpinista is unexposed and could be a good one. Sir Mark is 5 wins from 24 runners (21%) in the last fortnight and has a 'run to form' figure of 83%.

    To Selby re Gibbs Hill:

The horse ran very well for 4th yesterday, possibly running as though still in need of the race. A wiser man than me who posts on here told me that a friend was acquainted with the owner, who expected big things prior to the Northumberland Plate, where he disappointed. His only future entry is over 10 furlongs in the Dubai Duty Free Handicap at Newbury on 21 September, but the owners may well be on the lookout for other opportunities now. He is worth keeping an eye on wherever he goes, although he did advertise his potential to some extent yesterday!
