Didn't they say we were a long term project ? We still don't know what motivated them to buy us and what we can expect from their ownership.
They're hardly going to rock up and say how much of a bargain it was, and that they can't wait to asset strip the club and come out with a tidy profit this side of Xmas though, are they? I'm avoiding the obvious comparison, but I'm sure most will get the idea.
The club doesn’t have any assets to strip other than player contracts. Why does this nonsense keep coming up?
I imagine like all our players the club is for sale too. In the sense that if someone made the right offer they would sell up. In lieu of such a offer it is business as usual. Buy low, sell high and repeat.
They will acquire the stadium from BMBC (& others) .... develop the West Stand to include Sports Bar, etc which will be a stand alone asset/venture. Then they will sell all or parts at huge profit. In the meantime, they will let the club tick over making the books balance with player sales (sound familiar?!) which will balance losses due to dwindling attendances resulting from poor performances & possible relegation. They do not care which league we are in as long as they can maintain an even keel until the time is right to sell. Are we all ready for bottom 3 at 4:45 tomorrow because that’s what’s coming. We will not get out all season either. Going down. I was optimistic at the start, but not now having seen ALL games this season. Comforting to know we signed an 11 year old to link up with Devaney tho!!! Another indicator of the ambition (lack) at the club when all they can post is U23 signings!!!!!
Sorry, I wasn't suggesting that was actually their plan - just that you can't really refer back to what they said as any sort of evidence. Of course they're going to tell the fans that it's a long term project and that they have the interests of the club at heart.
Moore moved because he out grew Barnsley, maybe our owners and set up are not as potentially ambitous as we thought. I believed we let Moore go because we could replace him with better for the money we got for him even if that is January now.
Several saleable businesses & a club worth more than when they bought it. Profits from several players since they bought it. Have you seen the account because I have!! Money from mugs willing to pay to watch crap with no ambition or chance of survival in this league. I’m sure you know better Gordon, and I’d love to hear the revelation which I’m obviously missing.
