I didnt explain myself well enough, i thought that having wealthy owners, a great coach and a progression plan that our players and staff would all be aware of the potential at Barnsley. We sell on but replace with better, Woodrow for Bradshaw, Anderson / Halme to be better than Lyndsay, Diaby to match Pinnock, Collins to grow in to an improvement on Davies, Potts and Moore put money in our bank for us to remain stable and self sufficent but we have replacements in Brown, Wilkes, Chaplin, Green. If Moore is saying he has out grown Barnsley then surely Wigan over the next few years wont be bigger than us. He definitely went for money I was getting at how can Moore think he has out grown Barnsley as he is still unproven at this level andwe are not a small fry skint club anymore or are we?
I think you need to go and support Liverpool or maybe Man city . I honestly think you ll be a lot happier.
Just playing devil's advocate here for a moment...…………... If the owners keep to the "within our means" strategy, we remain a 'yo-yo' club betwixt League One and Championship, but in the meantime they buy the ground, develop the West Stand and then sell us on, debt-free, for a profit? Would they have served us that badly? Sorry for the punctuation of that sentence, but would they?
I think they're ambitious, but have much to learn about the league we're playing in. I've no intention of telling them how to run a business, but assembling good league one teams whilst in the championship isn't ever going to work on its own, let alone selling a good defensive partnership and top scorer and arguably weakening the team. When you look at all the 'new money' clubs, the investment attracts bigger gates, not the other way round. You only have to look at how quickly the crowds dwindle when things aren't as sweet. To have collectively made so much money they are all ambitious, but I'm at a loss to what their intentions are with regard to making a profit at Barnsley fc . I don't think there is real money to be made in club ownership. It seems the bigger the fire, the more coal it takes to keep it alight.
