Loved it, played for hours as a kid in Athersley North in the early 80's, that bulldog, Dobby, trackem happy days
Same, grew up in Monk Bretton near the junior school, we played pegs, kick can which was another form of dobby, british bulldog and lots of cricket and football. Back un the day when an x box hadn't even been thought of. Kids seemed much happier than they do nowadays with all the social media pressure.
We used to play 123 Levy, Levy caught. It was a good game until you found a brilliant hiding place. You'd come out after an hour or so and find out all the other kids had gone in for their teas or got bored and started playing something else.
Other games:- Dobby (Obviously) Tigs Off Ground Tigs Kick Can I Draw a Snake Mabs or podge (Marbles) One kick Nipsy (Just the best game ever) Sunday afternoons after dinner if it were sunny we'd have a stone (stuan) raid. Basically 2 teams chucking bricks at each other. If it rained then we be in somebody's house with a board game. Usually Subbuteo but occasionally others like Monopoly, Wembley, Mine a Million, Totopoly or Careers. Risk was considered dull.
