I personally hope they are reinstated, the supporters deserve to have their club operating no matter what league they find themselves.
The most important issue for me is THE FIT AND PROPER criteria for prospective owners needs to be far more stringent, it would appear at the moment the system resembles a large carpet with all sorts of rubbish casually swept beneath it.

It would be unfair on clubs that are properly run if they steal a place in the football league. They should start again at the bottom like clubs such as Halifax and Darlington had to.

Absolutely beggars belief. Can they get any more incompetent? As has been stated already- what about Halifax and Darlington? What about the next club that runs itself into the ground at the expense of others and then gets a reprieve a season later? Typical.

Its sad for the fans - I get that, and i would be gutted if it was us, but........we are all banging on about about clubs not sticking to FFP and overspending, and then, when one goes belly up due to not sticking to FFP and overspending we are then clamouring for leniancy? what do we want?

The problem I have here is the whole way the EFL have handled this - Bury were not in administration but they were unable to demonstrate to the EFL's satisfaction they had funds for the next 2 years - even though they were in the process of a takeover - they were then thrown under a bus

Meanwhile Bolton have been running insolvently for some time have been in administration for months - were unable to fulfil all their fixtures last season or this but kept getting lifelines until at least for now they are allowed to continue

Is admitting Bury to the second division wrong - I am not so sure - basically we are saying they got relegated this season - assuming they can survive for a season with no matches or revenue. Its definitely no worse than Bolton who have more lives than that cat in the Tom and Jerry cartoons

I think you are right. Given the number of games that they were unable to fulfil this season, it would have been unfair on the other clubs in L1 for them to face a fixture pile up as a result at the end of the season & Bury, like Bolton were likely to face relegation anyway due to the points deduction.

If they can prove that the club has a solvent future, starting in L2 with the same points deduction may be a reasonable outcome.

Gobsmacked that folk are countenancing this as a reasonable outcome. Forget trying to live within your means. Bury will end up with no long term punishment as they would’ve got relegated this season anyway.
