Disco night at the Friendship, Redbrook. Think was a Tuesday or Wednesday night in early 80's. Most raided night for underage drinkers & great music, 80's electro & ska / mod.

The Changes pub / night club. My ears are crap from watching SOB / Coast - soon to become Saxon. The pub was only little and the bands had enough Marshall amps to fill the Civic.

The Industry on Baker Street was next door - what became the Pavillion.

The Temple was the first pub I ever went in...the gaffer then would serve you in school uniform on a dinner time.

The other pubs on Wellington Street were the Shakespeare....and The Corner Pin.

I think the Industry Inn was the oldest pub in town.

Depends what you drink fired. I pay no more than £2.25 a pint in either No 7 or either of the Weatherspoons pubs for very nice real ale, which, comparatively, is less than I was paying 30 years ago.

Yes, Porsche's and Ferrari's would turn up. One day some @$&# landed on the car park in a chopper.

It once got turned over on a Tuesday night by armed robbers 30 mins after it had chucked the punters out. Must have got away with thousands, it was rammed summer nights on Tuesdays.

We go after the football to garrison, oo bar, o'dwyers/Annie Murray's, jocks etc still a good evening but perhaps less of a night out and more a laye afternoon into evening session.
What's happened to student night by the way on Wednesdays? Between 2007 and 2010 it used to be 3/4 as busy as the weekend, but recently it seems to have died a death completely. I met a mate in town a month back on a Wednesday evening and walked through at 11pm and literally nothing was open. Has the scene died? Young people going elsewhere?

Student night 03-05 was heaving every week. Went in town a few years ago on a Friday (also historically a popular night), was like the wild west.
