An update from Barnsley Council Club News Football supporters encouraged to use alternative walking routes to Oakwell for Barnsley’s game against Leeds United this weekend. Continue reading on the official site...
Ah well don't forget ..... South Yorkshire Police know best. They can get a game rearranged to the detriment and inconvenience of the general public but it seems they can do **** all to ensure roads and car parks are available on that day. Did they not check all this?
Could they make it anymore difficult for supporters? Now advising home fans to leave via Pontefract Road after the match, what an absolute sh*t show. I wouldn't want to be around the train station after the game, it'll be carnage. Let's play the game behind closed doors and be done with it.
I've already paid for this game, and yet I am thinking it is easier to stay at home and find a way to stream it. Fvcking hell.
It genuinely feels like they're just sorting all this out on the fly. No forward thinking whatsoever.
Mmmm. So Grove Street will be closed from 9:30am... no parking at the ground then, as no access?? How the heck do the teams get there, will they have to walk (via the long diversions) from town centre with the rest of us?? What a complete c*ck up.
And all because this inept Labour Council allowed a bridge to be built without ever considering that the bridge on this crossing is an essential part of getting from the town centre to the football ground. Someone in the planning department must be sacked for this !!!
I can't imagine this means the car park won't be open to fans, but this reads as though that is the case. I've asked the club to clarify.
