should I spend some of it on buying BFC off the current owners, bearing in mind that I know nothing about running a football club BUT that I am a true reds supporter and might be looking to ditch the plan and give the fans the ride of a lifetime (metaphorically speaking!)

No. Be like throwing the money away IMO. Plus, would your strategy be to put the club at risk with high wages / transfer fees or keep the same philosophy?

Investing in a football club is an easy way to make a small fortune...

    ...out of a big fortune.

Assume you pay £1m for the club, what would you do with it and where would the other £99M go.

If I won that kind of money I wouldn't touch BFC with a barge pole. Or another club for that matter. Hiding to nothing, you could spend 80 million quid and there would be people bemoaning that you didn't spend 81m.

If I win tonight’s Euros I wouldn’t invest. It takes away the novelty of being a fan as u become a owner then with responsibility. No way would you be able to enjoy just sitting in your seat without someone with a opinion good nor bad aiming at you telling you how the club should be run. Poisoned chalice

Well if a Barnsley fan wins the 167 million Euro jackpot tonight, at least one of us will be happy.

So, you've bought half of Neymar to bolster our attack, and now you're skint.

    What next?

I’d get the first solid 8 hours kip in 17 years. Then I’d get loads of cheese and straight bananas.

I'd pay for a new west stand with a proper fan zone, bars, restaurants etc in it with a residency for Mark Jackson's CWOT. Run these on a non profit basis with proper wages and training for those working in there (possibly in connection with Barnsley College if they'd be interested). It'd probably need subsidising but that's philanthropy for you.
