Just looking at league one and seeing a team doing really well.

Manager with fighting spirit, big name that will attract potential signings, European experience, speaks with a French accent so will immediately get Thiam and cavare onside. Already familiar with oakwell, especially the players tunnel, he’s due to be visiting Barnsley soon anyway on a legal matter...step forward Mr Joseph Barton

I don’t want anyone and will be very happy if Daniel Stendel is with us for a while yet

Going to be shoot to bits but what about Gary Rowett. Took over at Birmingham when they were 23rd and guided them to 10th I think. Could do a lot worse.
Otherwise I think it could be either unknown or Redfearn and Tonge.

Given Gareth turned Lincoln down given his history with them and on the up, doubt he would join us.

I'll be very surprised if we appoint anyone the vast majority of us have ever heard of.

I'll stick my neck on the line and say that we could get any manager in but based on what we have right now it won't make a blind bit of difference. I'll be more than happy to be proved wrong come May.

It will certainly have to be something spectacular for me to get excited about, following the developments over this past 24 hours. If I were a manager I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole unless I'm late into my career with absolutely nothing to lose. Likes of Ainsworth would be crazy to sign up for this.

    I'd leave the role vacant.

Whatever follows will just be a lesser equivalent of what we had hoped.

I doubt it matters now. Whoever comes in will be a guaranteed yes man to work in these conditions.

The one thing we did have until yesterday was a good manager, who'll presumably demonstrate this in his next job with Sunderland.

Who we get is irrelevant, it's only a coaching role at the end of the day...
