    I have it on good authority a deal was done between DS and Sunderland five weeks ago. So maybe not so much pushed. Take it with a grain of salt but I thought I'd put it out there

    Surely for anyone saying lets wait and see what happens when the owners finally break silence, should also take the same stance when versions of events that look like smears on Stendels character are also put forward?

    It's definitely a weird way of going about things by all parties.

    If true then Barnsley wouldn't have parted ways due to compo they'd receive.

    I can't decide if I should take that at face value, or if it's some clever way of getting a Hearsay song title into the thread. Face Like A Kicked In Freezer. Did it make the top twenty?

    Take no joy in it whatsoever. I'd rather be mid table with Stendel in charge. These latest developments if they are developments don't bother me. I feel he tried his best but it wasn't to be in the end.

    If he goes to Sunderland good luck to him. Better than being out of work.

    I certainly think there’s several reasons why he’s gone.

    Great guy and manger and yeah, we probably sold him short with transfers this season. But I think things have been brewing in the background for a bit.

    The fact the new contract was never really talked about much by DS indicates to me that he was always going to see how it went - which is fair enough, but also maybe questioned the clubs direction. The direction has been crystal clear to all of us, whether we like it or not. The board need their coach to accept it and back it - and perhaps only question it in private.

    I’ll judge come May next year whether this decision has worked well or not. Our target still remains - finish a minimum of 4th from bottom, for which we are only 2 points and 2 places from. Not negative - just realistic. We can then build from there again. It’s all about consolidation.
