Is the club in a better financial position now than when this Consortium bought it , the accounts say yes . These people , including James Cryne are business men , not fans we know that, Patrick Cryne was a business man a genius ‘do anything to get the deal done’ salesman , he sold them an idea a regime they understood, they are following it . Most fans bemoaned the reliance on Loan players , short contracts , this Consortium have completely altered that , within budget within FPP . No one else was in for us . They kept the team that came down with a few signings which went along way to us going back up , Stendel was given a promotion challenging side and delivered , he’s gone , walked ,sacked , engineered a sacking , had a better offer time will tell . I’m supporting BFC these guys are all we’ve got , the hysteria created by Stendel is out of order Sack the board shake hands with Bury
Tbf Stendel hasn't created any hysteria He was a model professional at the club . It was the board that allowed that awful statement to go out.
Not saying he isn’t a decent bloke but professionally there are some things you don’t do . Are you saying he has signed for Sunderland and he’s confirmed that in a pub tonight because that’s another thing you don’t do
Why lie? Why cant people say things as they are? That was one of the refreshing things about him and maybe part of what endeared him to the fans
because there are literally only 2 alternatives. Playing a team full of u9s or being Bury. Nothing at all in between
Yes, im so impressed by how financially secured we are we should stop playing footbsll and have 13000 fans turn up every week, to look at our fantastic bank balance! As usual the milli second someone leaves the club they become the anti christ. Stendel was sacked because he told the board what he needed to be competitive having had 4 of his squad sold from the spine of his team and replaced with kids who arent ready for this league....yet. He knows and the fans know this squad is no where near good enough for this division, tinker with the formation by all means but we are well short, all he wanted snd needed was a few (2/3)freebie experienced players.
The reality is there will be no shortage of people wanting the job. They won’t care one iota about what happened to DS, history of football show us this
Its not all about business. Without a football team and fens there wouldn't be a business. No one has asked the owners to lavish money on the club and risk going out of business, that's a piss poor argument. If you think James Cryne and the new people are doing a great job, that's your choice. I think they stink and have absolutely no ambition. Billionaires buying a club just to keep it solvent? What's all that about?
We know that its unlikely they are going to put any of their own money in...im good with that. What im not good with is the constant harping on about us being another Bury or Bolton. We consistantly sell our best players ( for under market value but are in profit on them) and replace with inexperienced kids who take 18 months to be good only to be sold. Is there a means tested equation here that says we have to sell £3 million of player per year to be sustainable....or do we just keep selling everybody off...the first offer that comes in...then rely on our spreadsheet? Genuine question btw.
Agree with pretty much all of that Durkar apart from your view that DS has created the hysteria. The hysteria has been created by proper fans 4who actually love the guy because he is such a lovely guy who will probably endear himself to whoever he comes across in life. I met him for just 5 minutes and he is very engaging. The hysteria has been created around him because of how he is. I am saddened he's leaving. However all those fantastic qualities doth not necessarily make a successful Championship football manager. I really do hope we find out what has actually gone off because there is more to this than meets the eye.
I'm not sure about that, I'm sure a few will be wary of: A. only being the head coach and having a limited say in transfers in and out of the club. B. Not being able to have experience in the team. C. How the board have seemingly handled Stendels dismissal.
I'd be surprised if there weren't 100+ applications. Though as this ownership seem completely wedded to data, I suspect they'll dig out the manager spreadsheet, click refresh and start looking at 4th on the list down. I'd be surprised if they went down a route of cronyism and nepotism, but we have a new CEO, so maybe they could look at the US realm and have a full house. But surely... surely... they must see some need to engage with the fans and at least pacify to some degree. You would think the situation at Nice would have taught them one thing at least.
Beyond the current situation with DS the real question is whether you believe the owners have the interests of the Club and this community at heart. Plenty do - I don’t.
It seems to me that too many fans are unable to separate Stendel the man from Stendel the manager. Stendel the man is a great bloke, very passionate and open, generous with his time, and has many likeable qualities. Stendel the manager has his failings. How many times this season have we tried to play a more defensive style, even when being ahead in a game? None. I'm sad that he's gone, but his refusal to temper his system with a bit of common sense has done himself, and our team, no favours. We all agree he's been dealt a shitty hand, but you dont have to play like an amateur poker player.
Of course it won’t be for everyone, but there will be loads who fancy their chances, from those who believe they know better, believe they can do better through to those who need a job or see it as an opportunity (even if a stepping stone).
