Well its not the first time one of your assumptions would be wrong. An admission they've made mistakes. What they are going to do to resolve those mistakes and just some simple communication and engagement with the supporter base. It's not even difficult to do. Unless they find admitting human fallibility impossible and have to apportion blame to anything else they can.
You are the only one more cut up about this than me I think We should have listened to Sir Elton John in 1973. He taught us the words: Daniel is travelling tonight on a plane I can see the red tail lights heading for Germany Oh and I can see Daniel waving goodbye God it looks like Daniel, must be the clouds in my eyes They say Barnsley is pretty, and I've often been Well Daniel says it's the best place that he's ever seen Oh and he should know, he's been there enough Lord I miss Daniel, oh I miss him so much Oh oh, Daniel my gaffer you are younger than me Do you still feel the pain of the summer transfer deals? Your eyes have died, but you see more than I Daniel you're a star in the eyes of the Barnserlee Oh oh, Daniel my gaffer you are younger than me Do you still feel the pain of the summer transfer deals? Your eyes have died, but you see more than I Daniel was a star on a Garrison night Daniel is travelling tonight on a plane I can see the red tail lights heading for Germany Oh and I can see Daniel waving goodbye God it looks like Daniel, must be the clouds in my eyes Oh God it looks like Daniel, must be the clouds in my eyes
So, they come out in a months time and say, "yeah, we got the situation with DS totally wrong and we're sorry"... you'd be prepared to move on? I honestly don't think you and most of the folk on this forum would. The bitterness towards the board is astounding. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather Stendel still be in post, but for whatever reasons (of which no one has a clue other than the board and Stendel) he's not. No amount of anger, petitions or tears is going to change that and asking a group of business people to apologise for a decision they made is mental.
well.......I guess we will have to agree to disagree also. ...They actually might not be able to comment on anything they like. They might be restricted from doing so. The hysteria bandwagon is rolling along and for those on here who are trying to introduce calm amongst all the emotion..... ..seems like were fighting a losing battle.
Of course Id move on if they were openly honest and admitted mistakes. I'd hope any reasoned people would do that. I was meaning more with the acquisition of foetuses to go into the first team squad and not listening to actual football people, but you assumed incorrectly again.
another sound post. the pitchforks and burning torches are out and no amount of reasoning will have any effect on the blood thirst.
So they can't comment on their next steps for replacing Daniel? They cant talk about the start to the season? They cant talk about the most successful transfer window ever? They cant say what they recruiting process is likely to be? They can't comment about the ground ownership, where they expected to take up the option before it lapsed after 6 months from ownership, then had it extended 6 months more? They can say anything they like as long as it didn't impinge on any contractual aspect of dismissal (if it exists, which nobody knows if it does or doesn't). If that statement had included something slightly more human and thankful and wasn't as terse and childish, the level of anger and questioning would be nowhere near as it is.
They didn't just buy the club, they bought the plan. They are sticking to it. Foetuses and everything.
I find it disappointing you're suggesting that dissatisfaction in a very poor decision is akin to blood thirst and revolt. The situation is a poor one of their own making and could easily be mitigated by words. 3 days later, there is nothing at all. Irrespective of any legal constraint (which nobody knows does or does not exist), they are not muzzled from all public comment.
He rang me last night from the Garrison. So did Chris Stern. What they said will remain private, but Daniel was gutted and it was plain to hear in his voice. In the background I could hear our fans singing the "only one" song. I'm very emotional about it, and I don't apologise for that. I feel what I feel, can't help it. As I've said elsewhere, the events are unprecedented. I know Daniel's gone and he's not coming back, and I know I have to move on, but I just cannot see how the owners can retrieve the situation. As others have said, it won't be by silence.
The petition I’m afraid is a little juvenile - and very pointless. The board can’t be sacked - they own the club! That is not to say I’m not horrified with their conduct this week, I very much am, absolutely disgusted. Classless, crass, and the silence since is deafening. I’m not even so annoyed at his sacking, more the way it’s been handled and that god awful announcement. I’m afraid that at this point Stendel can’t be brought back (I suspect he’s employed elsewhere already anyway), and the owners are going to be here at least in the short to medium term whether we like it or not. So whilst I share in the anger, and yes I’m very uncomfortable with the conduct of the club, no I can’t sign this petition, and probably wouldn’t have seen fit to even if it wasn’t so poorly worded.
