then I suspect we will end up in L2 Back to crowds of 4-5000 within the next few years and hopefully be able to stay in the professional game.
How many loans did we bring in last Jan? I genuinely have no clue, but I can't remember many if any... And I'm not talking about loan-to-buy...
I think the new owners are just following the plan a lot stricter. Patrick deviated from the plan where necessary, because he loved the club and couldn’t watch it all go to complete ****.
It's been mentioned lots since the summer. It's either pure coincidence that we just happen to have veered this way, or its a tactical decision. Was interesting to hear someone say one of the recruitment team had left to go to Aston Villa. I wonder if that has been part of the shift? But irrespective, when you consider the first team squad players signed in other transfer windows, there is a significant difference now to previous windows of their ownership, let alone when Patrick was owner. They have come out and stated they wont bring in loans, something some people have welcomed, but I've always thought it a mistake if you aren't going to retain some older heads to create a couple of mainstays in the team or you aren't going to buy a ready made player and push the boat out ever so slightly.
I apologise. Idiot that I am I thought we were focussing on the issue in hand (DS and the circumstances of his departure) rather than the Boards absolute inadequacy to do anything at all correctly ....ever. I am ignorant and sarcasm is theowest form of wit.
There's no difference to the first team squad; young and cheap. So the only difference is loans and that's been phased out gradually.
I'm not sure they need to apologise. Why should they when the situation has played out that they believe the club is better off without Daniel Stendel, or Daniel Stendel has decided he no longer wants to be part of the club (deliberately being squeaky clean here). However, no potential legal case prevents them from thanking Daniel for moving to England to take on the challenge of getting us back in to the Championship and for making such a success of it, confirming that Stern and Tonge remain at the club, giving some insight in to why Adam Murray is in caretaker charge, and what the recruitment process will be. Could even add something that talks about turning round recent results and uniting behind the objective of staying in the Championship. Granted most of the above answers would be standard and 'off the shelf', but it would at least show some maturity and respect for both the supporters and the departing manager. Whilst there's no loyalty in football, and at the end of the day it's a job, there could be potential managers and players looking at our handling of the situation negatively and that could impact future appointments and signings.
But they didn't thank him and that's it. Maybe they didn't like him, maybe he was a complete bell washer behind the scenes, maybe he called them all shitcnuts when they asked him to be a bit more positive in press interviews? Who knows, but they didn't thank him and I'd be well pissed off if people kept telling me to thank someone that I didn't think deserved my thanks.
Haha. The issue in hand is the squad needing assistance to make it competitive. Its been said to death by fans, pundits and our former HC. In all of that, somehow, the board saw the solution to this conundrum to sack our HC, issue a terse statement and then say nothing for 3 days.
we have moved away from signing players 22-25 with lots of League experience such as Winnall Hourihane et al to signing players 18-22 with virtually no leave experience. Not in every instance but a definite change.
But Morais deserved thanks? How many football managers are sacked a year? I don't recall in my 25 years of watching football a statement as childish and disrespectful as the one we put out on Tuesday morning. All those things you mention in your post probably happen all the time in football, but never result in the departing manager not being thanked for his services to the club.
