They bought the club for between £10m-£20m according to the FT.

It was certainly completed after Lee and Conway had taken over. But from the moment they took over, they must have either instantly started plans for them signed off, the build started and completed in about a year.

I didn't realise that happened so swiftly. It offers the question, were the plans already in place or had started at the point of them taking over and they just continued the process?

I've been trying to find when initial plans were put forward but only found articles of its completion in October 2017. They took charge September 2016.

Player values go up exponentially though. Get a lad top league one player you might get £3m, get a mid table championship player you might get £5m, get a top championship player you might get £10m etc.

I’ve just listened to an I follow interview Conway gave in February where he states “they” built an 18m euro academy at Nice.

Obviously such a projects cost will be staggered over a period, but will be allocated and budgeted for up front (plus/less variances).

Seeing as the project started 2.5 years roughly before Conway and Lee acquired the club, it would appear reasonable to suggest all or most of that budget had been allocated already and the idea and concept was inherited by them, not conceived and planned.

From the several comments about the Nice academy, I very much thought it was all their doing... it doesn’t seem that’s the case.

So if they didn’t build the ground, and they only came on board during the final third/quarter of the academy project... just what did they do at Nice???

Isn’t it a bit concerning though? That the flagship project they often talk about at Nice started way before they were even involved?

I mentioned yesterday on the new city capital website, the BFC image is of Heckingbottoms play off win before they were involved here. And for Nice, a picture of their former stadium, which was completed 3 years before they arrived there.

    My concern is increasing.

The OGC Nice stadium cost 250 million euros to build, it is owned by the city of Nice.

council own it same as ours ! half anyways.
The investors bought the club for 20 million euros not the stadium and sold the club not the stadium.

And the training complex that started 2.5 years before they bought the club, which they’ve repeatedly taken credit for?

I’m attempting humour in what is quite a strange time in the life of Barnsley F.C.

It is very concerning at the minute and the more that comes to light, the more questions need answering.

Let’s see if they have the ******** to front up and be asked and in turn answer these questions.

After reading the posts in this thread - it’s obvious that the bandwagon has been down the street again.
And all those that are a little bit hard of thinking have jumped on it - like they always do.

First and foremost, as supporters we should be overjoyed that we have owners that have ambitions to push towards the Premeir.
And there is no doubt - if there is a chance of that happening then these owners have the capacity to make it happen - which again is something else we should be thankful for.

In saying that - the supporters have a right to be aggrieved at seeing Daniel Stendel sold short in the transfer market - and then dismissing him without a goodbye or a thank you.
We will just have to wait and see what the CEO has to say about the circumstances surrounding that dismissal.

The CEO has had 4 days to explain the decision. They obviously have no intention of doing so.

It will be interesting to see if they become even less visible or give interviews of any note to the media.

Just from general searching and obviously their actions (or lack of) since Monday, there are a growing number of questions I'm sure the media and supporters groups may wish to ask.

    4 whole days!!!
Why is there such a rush to get it out?
How does it affect the performance of the club and it’s employees by rushing it out?
Does it really matter if it takes 1 day or 2 weeks as long as it comes?
