Mad as a box of frogs, Big Sol Campbell is the man to take us on. Ive looked at the list and i dont want redders, disco, sir bobby or higgy, i dont want an unknown foreign manager or the failed managers from other clubs. Bottle of Sol no lime.

Comes across as a right bell end in the media. Don’t want him here personally.

Can’t knock the job he did at Macclesfield.

I wouldn’t be against it. I always felt he came across as a bit of a tit in the past but I’ve heard a few interviews of him lately & he cane across well

I can’t see him being a good fit for Barnsley.

Be funny as **** given the average level of racism of a lot of our bellend fans.

To be fair Jimmy, although that's always been a problem, I'm quite proud of my club that we appointed Viv Anderson as one of the first ever black managers. And I don't remember a single racist slur directed towards him. And let's be reight, he wasn't very good. I think Barnsley people are, on the whole, quite insular as we haven't experienced being exposed to multiculturalism due to the industry in our town. But I also think, again on the whole, we're very fair and will take someone as they come without judgement on race, religion, gender or sexuality. That's not to say we don't have some arseholes. But I believe it's less than most, and we're far too often ill judged because our accent is raw and rough and ready but our ideals are real and true.

The whole 'Diaby Song' debacle didn't paint us in a good light.
But we are one of probably a very small number of clubs to have had two black managers, and I don't recall either being subject to racism ( though I may be wrong).
But Sol Campbell.... I just can't really put into words why I really wouldn't want him.
Seen him, several times, in interviews, state that 'there aren't enough black managers' or 'I didn't get the managers job because I am black'.
He would have us labelled racists if the fans turned on him for being a poor manager, regardless of his colour or creed.
Chip on his shoulder, for me.

I can agree to an extent but not sure that’s my experience. My ex was black bringing her to Oakwell in Viv era was an experience but I guess times have moved since then. Though scratch the surface and you look at the real reason why the majority round here wanted brexit and it wasn’t much to do with sovereignty and a lot to do with racism of one flavour or another.

Flippant comment to be fair bit at least twice a year me and my brother end up having a stand up row with racists at Oakwell as the stewards do nothing.

I don’t like what I know if Campbell and wouldn’t seriously want him to be our manager.

Isnt it a bit racist though to not want him cos he might complain about us being racist? Would he he a good manager is the only question that should be asked and answered

It was definitely to do with immigration. But I think people were ill advised.

Alan Sugar has been appointed we're all fired. Barnsley F.C don't need support just show us all a video of the clubs glory days on an Amstrad VCR.

Not the worst name on the list. I’ll be very surprised if the successful candidate is even on the list but we shall see.
