We have to move on or the club will end up in a downward spiral fans and infrastructure alike. Don't know how things are going to progress, but now the management have there work cut out regaining good will from fans and playing staff . Going into self destruct mode will not regain confidence .need the players to show there willing to overcome position we are in .And a bit of good luck .and a coach manager with a big enough ego to galvanise what we have in young protégées . Points make prizes.
The club has already self destructed. So many floors to the plan, board and coaching set up. Not everyone at the club is singing from the same hymn sheet. Chris Stern was only at the club acting as an interpreter. The team building exercises were done because Stendel was at a loose end because his family were in Germany. Stendel wasn't picking certain players because he got set on other players. There is a deeper reason Hassell and Devaney constantly over looked to take the step up and Murray got the gig. James Cryne isn't the bogie man. Davies was offered 10 grand a week taking 16 grand a week at Stoke. Lindsay wouldn't take the rise offered so was sold. Pinnock told the club he wasn't signing a new deal in january regardless of the offer and saying he was happy in the press.
After al the hard work getting us up.and knowing hard the championship is we should have planned to consolidate this season. If we get relegated then it would be a case of 1 step forward and 4 steps.back. Will always back the team.
I get what tha saying mate but most of us are struggling to move on because we feel that another problem will come then another...
If the strategy is to have a league one pay structure then is there any wonder that players wont sign a new contract? If our player wage bill is £10m out of championship turnover of £14m. That means the club could afford to pay 5 players £15k a week 5 players £10k a week 5 players 5k a week and another 10 at £3k a week and still be in budget. Our desire is clearly quantity and lower pay. All driven by a desire to trade players. Building a team is secondary.
Yes I agree the focus should have been on staying up not profit. League one isnt a easy league to get out of ask sunderland and sheffield united with bigger gates and budgets than ours
Looked like Stern was doing more than interpreting to me although I know he spoke the best English Managers will always have the problem of who to play and it will inevitably leave some players disgruntled. No one is saying Daniel was infallible but he was the best thing we've had in a long time and overcame a lot of hiccups along the way to promotion.
But what is a football club? What do we share? Whatever it is, I'm not sure Chien Lee and Paul Conway have it. Continue supporting and we support their business. It's a tough call.
People forget that took over a relegated team, plenty of players out of favour or hardly played season before, had bradshaw sold his replacement came and got injured, lost his assistant, had woodrow and moore injured for long spells, had potts sold, dougall injured on 2 separate occasions 2nd time with a broken leg, not to mention all the other injurys, browny and mcgheehan suspended for 3 games at same time missing key games, the Barton saga.... He did a great job breaking records on the way, and league one isnt a easy league to get out of look at sunderland and sheffield united also found it hard with much bigger budgets than ours.
