Think your right he left his family in Germany to come here so I imagine he will spend time with them before his next move.
Gareth Ainsworth!!! Christ on a bike Spender. Who makes these decision at Sunderland? You’d be better off with Stevie Wonder.
He's not my 1st choice, in fact make that 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th either. I'm worried we are going to make a bad appointment like. Stendel is a no brainer and I'm praying he wants to come and we get him. Not convinced we will though.
If so it would work in clubs favour if he takes a new role now. The club can argue no compensation as he hasnt lost anything and maybe gained. If the argument is the sacking wasnt done properly then then we could claim compensation for his contract still being in place. Either way our loss is some clubs gain
There's a couple up here also like him but it's still fresh in my mind how they kicked us to bits and wasted time like no other team we played last season in both of our games with them last season. They are up there this season and I don't know if they have changed their style but I would be concerned if we adopted the dark arts approach to get results, yes you have to be professional but not to cross a line.
If Stendel signs for Sunderland pure coincidence. Some stories are fabricated to save face. The board fecked up. Stendel never brokered a deal away for five weeks or fell on his sword.
If he’s got Wycombe where he has, a genuine non-league outfit in reality, you have to assume he’s got something. Every pundit or football person I’ve heard or seen speaking about him does so glowingly. He also outfoxed Stendel last season at their place. Horrid game, but they shut us out easily.
@Redhelen didn't you say you heard it from the horse's mouth i.e. Stendel that he's off to Sunderland? Made it sound like a nailed on forgone conclusion..
I said if you go to Sunderland and he said when when which I took at face value. But as I've said elsewhere if and when are the same word in German so I think he took my if as when and I took his when to mean when instead of if Complicated but it makes sense in my head !

Certainly ca my argue that he gets everything out of what he has and that he is very effective. Apparently we've been given permission to speak to him.
Thanks for clearing that up. Haven’t seen your other post(s) re: the if and when business. Who knew German was such a complicated language!
He's a decent manager. If you look at managers who do well with smaller clubs in the Championship they use some gamesmanship, whether it is Harris, Warnock, Bowyer, et al. I'd still come back that you need experience on the field to deliver such an approach, something we currently don't have.
Knew him very well when he was a player and he was a right arrogant git, that said we all mature and you can’t disagree with what he has achieved at Wycombe and to be fair he has shown quite a bit of loyalty as he has been offered a few jobs since being there.
Forkhandles anyone!? If you took the words out but just used the inflection then it does make more sense in retrospect that he meant "if"
