    My dad always told us of the big part Barnsley Town Hall played in World War 2. Bearing in mind it had only been built 10 years or so, it was still very much it’s original colour,white and as such it apparently was very visible from the air so the Luftwaffe where instructed to use it as a marker when bombing Sheffield.
