Time for us to stop dwelling now. We all loved the guy but time to move on. From hearsay, we don’t know what’s gone off behind the scenes, who knows he may have asked to leave? How would we have felt if he engineered a move to another club? All I know is that the football under his stewardship has been abysmal the last few weeks (inexperienced players or not) he set the team up I’m not saying that he wouldn’t have turned it round cause I truly had faith in him due to last seasons heroics but the rate we were going, we were looking like relegation fodder Let‘s get behind the next head coach and the team and give it our all- we’re in this together and all the pissing and moaning won’t change a thing. Cause whether people believe it or not, this is our rightful place on the football pyramid and I really don’t fancy another season in league one as I’m sure the owners don’t
I doubt i'll see a post this week that has more contradictions than this one. "Time for us to stop dwelling now, time to move on" Which then leads onto "Who knows he may have asked to leave" "Im not saying that he wouldnt have turned it round cause i truly had faith in him" which then leads onto "we were looking like relegation fodder"
Our rightful place will purely be based on our points tally acquired by a large squad of very young players who’ve hardly played any competitive football at this level prior to joining us. Nowhere near “time to move on”. Til questions are answered and reasons given, this week is one of the most shameful I can remember in over 35 years of supporting this club. The owners are the only ones who move this on. For better or even worse.
I totally agree with getting behind the team & sadly having to move on from the DS era. One that has been a bright spark in recent history, along with Hecky's promotion season. DS will always be a hero to me, I loved his style, enthusiasm & connection to the fans. I think we have it on good account that he was sacked & without any statement from the board, other than the crass 21 words, I believe that is what has happened. He was put in the job because of his high press style. Nothing went for him this season, both in terms of signings & injuries. Non of us were impressed by what happened in the summer & he was hung out to dry. Let's move on & remember DS with fondness. I'm giving it now till the end of January for the board to prove to me that they have a real plan to make us the steady Championship team that they said was their intention. I could see some sort of reaction from the playing staff, but the next 3 matches are about as hard as they could be & I'm not holding my breath, I hope to be proved wrong, but rigid sticking to "the plan" will undoubtedly see us in L1 again next season & our "assets" massively depreciated. At the moment the whole thing is massively depressing. Thank god I have other things in life to worry about, but for now the ball is in the court of Conway, Lee, Cryne, et al to prove that they realise they have made a massive **** up in the summer & turn things around.
Glad it's so easy to move on... Guess being old school and no doubt from a different Generation sets us apart in what's deemed right and wrong... Up to press these owners owe us an explanation and dare I say an apology for that so called statement that they put out.. Dress it up how you want but in my opinion they've walked all over our history and tradion and professional standing... Call me an old f... art but Maners and courtesy cost nothing... respect is earnt not given away like advertising leaflets... There's a right way and wrong way to do things and from what I've seen from this board of new owners to date doesn't t fill me with glee.. Not having a go at you but I for one am still angry and don't trust them one bit
Some of you may have seen this article, not sure which publication. I think it's spot on. Just read the last sentence......
Under the current circumstances, no one would have blamed him. It's not just about moving on from the developments of the last week, it's more about why he's not here, and why he was given an impossible task by his paymasters in the first place.
Sums up my thoughts entirely. Sometimes politicians & high profile people make a statement that pretty much disassociates them from their followers. Conway's "BEST TRANSFER WINDOW EVER", is a headline he may be living to regret. He had impressed me quite a bit with his actions up to now, but where is he? Leaders lead, they don't hide in a bunker & try and weather a storm. The war is not lost this season, but a bit of honesty & humility would go a long way.
Supporting our team and moving on are different matters. I'll continue to support our young team as long as I continue to attend games but I am still angry about the direction our club is being taken. Until we get some honesty from our owners I won't move on.
If we just “move on” after every disgraceful decision then the board will give even less of a **** what we think
No....it is not. Get behind the lads on the pitch...yes. However the board would love this to go away and all of us to just move on but no ....a great wrong has been done. Otherwise we just roll over and they can tickle our bellies and they can do what they want, time after time. No... this club and many like ours are about the fans ...we need to question with constructive criticism anything we feel uncomfortable with.....and as yet they have shown us contempt and a lack of respect.
Stendel was a good option to get us out of League 1. A bit like Andy Ritchie was. What we really need now is a Simon Davey to establish us as a Championship club.
It's a decent read but I can guarantee you there were plenty of boos at Preston, and fans at players' throats. There was even mock cheering when Stendel withdrew Jordan Williams. And in other matches recently the moans, groans and boos have been there. It's not ambition that's the issue either, so he's wrong there also. It's a lack of it in my eyes.
