10 league goals in 12 games for posh would have been a far better replacement for kieffer moore than schmidt. Although we would have had to use all of the 3 million received for moore to make I happen.

He’d have been better value at £3m than Schmidt at £750k or whatever he was. Don’t think they’d have sold for £3m though.
Got be worth £5m at least now. Posh aren’t like us.....they don’t give their best players away.

Didnt schmidt cost over 1million? And yes I agree I think toney will end up going for big money still only 23

I think alot of our fans base their opinion on toney from the young 19 year old we had on loan who even then scored and was involved in some vital goals for us.

Yes I think you're right. But most good young players turn into older better players.

Your right but you need you players who are going to get better but are good enough for the league you are in that's where we have gone wrong.

they aren’t like us. They don’t get promoted.

Saying that getting promoted seems to be the cause of our angst. It’s the hope that kills you

Thats true I admit. Think we’ll find it a lot tougher in L1 next time though.

Their aim is self sufficiency and an attempt at the play offs.

Been nearly men for several seasons. Just lacking in the final straits.

Look good this season though, full of goals, solid defenders. Barring injuries and January sales will be there or thereabouts.

they sell their best players. Promotion is more by accident than design it seems

If we had Toney....we have sold him by now to the first bidder.... at under the market value....but slightly in profit!!

Most people were going ape sh*t when we were linked with Toney in the summer. We’re a fickle old bunch on here.

    Hence the self sufficiency aspect.

However, they don’t put them all for sale in one go.

They’ve retained Toney for this season amid championship interest, added a second top quality striker, at least at league 1 level and signed a solid league one centre back in mark beevers, one of league twos best left backs and young centre halves and a cracking keeper in Christy Pym....

They’ll be closer to promotion than we are at stopping up.

Your right they was only me and a couple others who were defending toney. Far better than what we did bring in though.

How do we know? We’ve not seen Schmidt or Toney play in this division.

Toneys 23 he has scored goals regular in the division below for the past few seasons and has started with 10 in 12 and still only 23. Will only get better.

Our head coach who saw schmidt train week in week out didnt play him much. Could come good but could well not and may end up going back home before scoring in the championship.

I saw where Posh chairman turned down 3 bids from us in the summer. Didn't say how much we bid tho, now they value him at 10 million.

that is true but it’s no real comparison at all. You could pick 30 teams who will all do something better than us.

It’s a fact we’ve been promoted twice whilst they are still in league one, as I said above I’ve no real idea if that actually benefitted us at all though. Maybe our owners are quite happy trying to emulate Peterborough and promotion / relegation is just a by product. It certainly seems that way.
