1990 was my first game...... Would have been good to see Ronnie though. I have seen him grace the Oakwell pitch though which I think was the Fleming testimonial where he still had a lot of skill. Redders was a different breed. He never seemed to get injured despite the box to box tough tackling midfielder he was. He could work as part of the coaching staff, but I wouldn't have him as the main man.
It would be awesome, Redders arrives, takes us out of bottom 3, gives us a decent-ish season. Then again, if it all goes wrong and he's sacked at end of the season it would ruin everything. I just hope this isn't the choice.
It would be a disaster if we appointed him. Losing football, and the reputation of a true legend destroyed. Never go back.
An home win and clean sheet. If only it was that easy this season. If he still lives in Hade Edge then it's a lot easier for him to get to Oakwell.
He was also impressed by what he saw for 25 mins and knows exactly what is needed from a tactical respect. Sometimes another point of view from outside is all that's needed. He might work well with Mowatt, Halme, Wilks and Oduor?
The board might see Redders as a way to get the fans back onside. Redders with Nicky Eaden, although Redders managerial record is pretty awful
I think he may fall into the category of being able to do it but not coach it. I can't see him letting himself be pushed around by the board either.
I agree but even the worst managers click at least once or twice for a season or two at a time during their managerial careers. In modern football it isn't a long shelf life.
I think it might take a bit of blood and thunder rather than coaching genius. In the short term would be a good appointment. That's what we need a short term fix. As I've just posted modern day football is all about saturday, tuesday, saturday and results.
It's a no lose situation for Redfearn. I should imagine he would have a relegation clause inserted whereby he had the decision on whether he left at the end of the season or had a crack at League 1 promotion. Then there's slight chance he keeps us up and gets a pre season and proper crack at Championship. He'd be a fool not to take it. If offered. With the state of things behind the scenes it's a free hit as far as Redfearn's cv is concerned.
