Stendel’s post-match interview. Watched it in full several times now.

If you haven’t watched it in full, more than once, with a clear head, then I encourage you to do so.

For me, ultimately this is what finished his BFC career off.

    He’s shell-shocked, lost and almost fish-eyed.

I’m not disagreeing with what he says at all, he calls it honestly and correctly. But perhaps too much so and too publicly for the board. With also the worry that from that point, that he might be unable to bring them back from the deep hole they are in. If the manager is lost, then the players have no chance.

It’s just an observation, that’s all. I felt the same when I saw it on the Saturday. History aside, if that had been a fresh manager this season, even the fans would have been worried.

I think that was the last nail in the coffin for him. The problem clearly is that the board had was not wanting him to be so public with his opinions. However, he was just being honest and truthful, he's stated the blantantly obvious point that we need some things to change and quick, he knew what they were, he's the man with the footballing experience not the board, they just didn't give him the tools to do the job.

    Exactly.

Having watched it, he looks totally deflated (understandably). The board obviously don’t want this negativity passing onto the fans or players.

He was right in what he said, but sometimes as an employee, you can’t always admit that to your customers in public. That’s the case in most jobs, from the top to the bottom.

As much as I hate to say it, he seemed to have come to the end of his time in that interview, he looked defeated like there was no other way he could help or do anything to keep us going.

That is very true, I work in IT and I sometimes hear things which shouldn't be said out to the public/colleagues. It's still a shame that the truth has had him sacked by the looks of it, just hope we can get someone in who will smash this job.

I’m glad it’s not just me who thinks this!

I also liked the guy and believed he was dealt a poor hand by the board, but you can’t ignore this interview.

If that had been Spackman, Hill, Flitcroft or Davies, you’d have put money on them going by Monday.

As I understand it he did have ideas of what he wanted to do to try to turn things round.

He needed experience. He knew that, we all knew that, but im not sure taking a punt on out of contract players was the answer. They are without a club for a reason.

He had asked all the way through the transfer window to both, keep as much of his squad as possible, and to buy some players with experience. We shouldn't have gotten to the point where the only fall back strategy between now and January were desperate punts on out of contract players... which aren't happening either it would seem.

Can you blame him for feeling that judging by how our owners have dealt with him/situation. He probably knew it was futile and no point carrying on if nothing would change.

Oh no, don’t blame him at all.

But as a manager in any industry, if you make your true feelings known to all customers and your bosses, you have to accept that you may be removed or suspended from your position.

Essentially that’s what has happened in my eyes. Also by going on about the experience required, he undermines the club’s bosses and it’s business plan.

It makes total sense to me why he has gone - but presume the statement is what it is due to contractual issues that are unresolved.

It’ll be much better when the next few teams hammer us if the Head Coach says how great we are and that the recruitment was spot on. Can’t wait
