Not sure I understand the question tbh, no longer sure what they are or what the fk is happening with the club, although suppose that makes the answer no in a round about way

18% backing the owners. That's way lower than I thought it would be so far.

Exactly. When we are talking about "the Board" - who and what exactly do we mean? A group of business people who have invested their personal money into the football club. Obviously they have not done this from the good of their hearts, and they hope to turn a profit. They risk losing money however. They do not, necessarily have local links with the club. with a couple of exceptions but they have come along with a business plan. Up to now this has been successful in keeping the club solvent and not running up massive debts. Their main strategy is that of developing young players and selling on later for a profit, whilst maintaining an attractive style of play and have stated ambitions that the Championship is the league that they think this club should belong.

On the other hand, there is the fan - who has local, possibly long lasting and deep emotional link to the club, and who spends money on going to games. This attendance revenue in the last full financial year of 2018 which i can get hold of figures for was about £3.6M - a figure which was dwarfed by player sales the previous year of over £12m. Then there is revenue from broadcasting, sponsorship etc etc. So it is obvious that to make money and keep the club stable we need to sell players - otherwise we could go the way of Bolton Wanderers or, God forbid, Bury.

Some posters on here forget the dark days of administration.

The "board" are the people who keep the club alive by running it as a business. Of course the fanbase is important, and what happened in the last 10 games and then the sacking left much to be desired. If the fan base turn against the owners and stop coming to games then as investors they have the choice to cut their losses and leave. Of course every fan is entitled to an opinion. Opinions are like arseholes. Everyone has one. This is mine....

I don’t trust them, I am pretty certain that I want them gone to be honest. I am disgusted at this whole affair.

But I still voted yes - whilst they are at the club me turning my back on them is me turning my back on the club, I understand why people disagree but I won’t ever do that.

I’ll be supporting the team on Saturday, not using the game as an event to protest.

However if you reworded the question to say ‘do I still believe in the board’ or ‘do I want them to stay’ - then I’d be in the no camp.

So once again another post by someone telling us it's the current model or Bolton and Bury? Those are the only two options?

I'm in this camp at the minute, sliding nearer to the "no" position as every day passes without some kind of communication....

    Unsure.

I'm in 2 minds about going Saturday.

If they can redeem themselves in January I may give benefit of doubt.

But all I see is mowatt and Woodrow on the "To sell" list.

January will define make or break for many including me.

I'm certainly extremely unhappy at events so far put it that way and would rather have afternoon in the local tbh

    FFS !!!!!!!!!
These owners have been in position for about 2 years.
They are trying to build something after the club has been left adrift for the last 15 highly frustrating years - where the club didn’t go forward, backwards or sideways - basically because the club didn’t have any money.

And what happens - new owners come in that have money to move the club forward - they have a spat with a manager and sack him .......... and most on here immediately throw the teddy out of the pram.
    WTF !!!
Are some people on the BBS so foooking fickle !?!?!

    What planet, Mr Nudger?

Two relegations in three years. Firesales, and seemingly not a penny of their own money invested while effectively sacking a popular and high-achieving head coach?

    Are you for real?

I dont see an alternative to supporting the board, negativity wont drive them out or ensure we get better new owners, booing wont affect how they do business or help the players. The only way forward is to support the team and hope the board and the plan comes good.

Just making the point that there is no enjoyment in a toxic atmosphere not for the players or fans. Life generally is not all plain sailing it as we all know has its ups and downs, we just get on with it and BFC are no different again as we all know through watching the reds for years. As ive said previously we are not down yet.

Murray may be the new Pep, Woodrow and Chaplin may be the new Lineker and Beardsley, the board may sign some experienced players or we can just admit defeat and be miserable bastxxrds.

    Nope.

I want to support a community club not a feeder club.

No need for that lad, we all need to stick together more than ever at a time like this. It is possible to disagree with someone without falling out. The owners read this board and at least one of them posts on it, so it's important they get a balanced view from all sides. Stick it out for a bit.

I think supporting BFC for 60 years may turn out to be the next PPI scandal!:)

    Memories like goldfish.

    Have people already forgotten !!!!
You say ........ ‘ but always of at least competing’

Are you new to this message board ???

Did you ever go to any Barnsley games in the Patrick Cryne era !?!?!

Are you able to remember literally thousands of posts on this message board bemoaning the lack of finances available to the club to compete in the transfer market or secure the services of good loanees going through the club ???

The last 15 years has been a lack lustre cut adrift period in the clubs history.
These new owners have at least started to build something - putting a team of young players together - many of them costing £500K to £1 million.

    It’s a new start FFS.
And these owners are new to the English game.
FFS - give them a bit of space.
