Giving every 8 year old school kid in Accrington a free club shirt.

    Great gesture..........

    Amazing owner/fan engagement.

Great bloke and speaks probably the most sense in football.
I wonder how he'd be treated as our Chairman. He's got Accrington just about as high as they can realistically go. Would we be happy with someone like him even though we would probably never rise above the Championship?

Can't speak for the majority, but I would. Makes me think of the days of Andy Ritchie and him taking some right hammer for saying we'd got about as far as we could when he got us into the championship. Maybe Ritchie was actually a bit more far-sighted than he was given credit for?

If I was a 7 year old in Accrington I'd be absolutely fuming

It's great marketing. There was some research a few years back into how fans started to support their team, a significant % said that being given a shirt for a particular team sealed an allegiance at an early age. That's why I think BFC should be doing what Accrington are doing or at least having a near cost price shirt for junior fans. The club gets it back in the long run.

Agree but a free shirt would be the best option. Cost price would still be unaffordable for some parents. But the free one would engage EVERY kid. The cost would would be far outweighed by the publicity and would be peanuts to the club. Brilliant idea.
