    WOW !!!
Who expected that - a great response from the team after the turmoil of the last few weeks ???
Great credit to Adam Murray and the management team.

Before the match - went into Brahmas - selection of beers in there gets worse.
Biggest boozer in TARN - and it’s shi.te.

Went next door intut No 7 and had a chat with Pat the Beer - she got the Barnsley Beer Bible out of her rucksack and gave me some sound advice on what to look out for.
Which was handy cos I found it was on int Silkstone.
    Bosuns Brewery - Horbury.

    Decent following from Swansea.
And it’s always great to hear the Welsh Anthem.
Our fans were the best they have been for a while - but then again they had something to shout about during this match.

    Now for the match.
From the start it was different.
It was more fluid and the change in formation played to the players strengths.

    A different formation 3-5-2.
Which unlocks the potential of Brown and especially Cavare.
Not always best at defending but they take a lot of stopping going forward.

Brown - steady - but mislaid a couple of simple passes that would have seen us in on goal. Needs to improve on that.
Cavare - what a player - like a tank - potentially MOTM - I think he greatly appreciates encouragement from the stands, which I try to give him.
    Come on Dimi !!!
Where did Cavare’s tremendous throw ins come from - and why wasn’t that lethal weapon used before by Stendel ???

Collins - not called on much - but this guy is a real shot stopper when called upon - saved the day on a couple of occasions. Brilliant.

    Back 3 - tremendous.
Bambo - greatly missed because obviously he along with Dougal is one of our best players.
Halme - immense - especially in the air.
Sibbick - there is a player here that is very likely to shine bright in the near future. An albatross of a player that seems to glide over the grass.

    Midfield.
Jeez - haven’t we missed Dougal - what a player this guy is !!!
Mowatt - most people rave about this player but I can’t see it - he is very similar in style to McPhail - but McPhail, given any room, could kill the opposition with cutting passes - Mowatt dosen’t do that.
Mowatt is able to run around all day but he is half a yard off the pace.
Mowatt needs to look at his game - he should avoid jumping into tackles and the melee in midfield and should concentrate on his ability to move us forward by providing that killer pass.
If not then this is a position we definitely need to look to strengthen in January.
We are also missing a Hignett type of player in midfield - or dare I say it a Potts type - someone in midfield that can pick the ball up and run at defences.
McGeehan - oh dear oh dear - should have had 3 goals. Sitters that in my younger days (2 years ago) I would have back-heeled into the net.
A bad bad day at the office for McGeehan.
Again - the game should have been well and truly over before the opposition scored.
But we’ve seen that quite a few times this season.
If we can’t win - then we are likely to lose.

    Forwards.
Woodrow and Chaplin worked extremely hard.
The ball went longer more often during the match compared to the Stendel era.
We are greatly missing Kieffer - a striker that can play with their back to the goal.
A player of that type has to be a priority in January.

In general very very impressed with the change in formation and the tempo of the players - especially when considering the circumstances.
So a big thumbs up to Adam Murray.
On that showing I’m looking forward to the rest of the season.

One last thing - the refreshments in the West Stand.
5 minutes before the start of the 2nd half the metal shutters came down in a way that was reminiscent of Kiosk Kieth in I’m A Celebrity.
WTF is that all about 5 minutes before the start of the 2nd Half.
    Poor service - needs improving.

Would agree with that analysis apart from Mowatt, Wears his heart on his sleeve and gives it everything. I do have a gripe about Brown though, he gave the ball away far too many times, at this level it`s not good enough. Who coached him that when defending on the line that you stand behind it? As we saw, if he was on the line it would have been cleared.
Officials were ok, had 1 clanger when their keeper was outside the box with the ball in his hand, lino was right there. Anyone thought that Woodrow should have had a pen? I`ve seen them given for a push like that, had it been at the other end I`ve a feeling it would have been.

Cavare ? He is lazy. Can't get back. Loses the ball way to much

I read somewhere that Mowatt has created the 2nd highest number of passes for potentially goal scoring opportunities in the division this season

Nah. Adds so much to our attacking play down that right side it’s brilliant, hence why it’s smarter to play him wing back and have cover for him in the shape of Diaby and Dougall can sweep up as well.

Keeper handled inside the box. They showed it back on TV

the push on Woodrow was erm a push on Woodrow. In the box. Penalty. No question

Ref had a really good match but it is the sort of decision we have had given against us countless times

Good going forward. Abysmal at getting back. Lost count of the number of times he allowed his man to get away. But when goalside he's probably the best defender. Cut out the stroll back. TBF the other side Brown was great cover for Sibbick ( Best part of his game). Cavare had none. Diaby saved him a couple of times Leaving his own man to come across to save the day.

Not seen the replay of the "handling" and from the West Stand no way could I tell
Definite Pen on Woodrow - but never expected it to be given - we never get those in our favour
I agree I thought the ref was one of the best we have had in a long time - only major criticism was the Penalty

A much better performance all round against a good side.

Brown shown to be wanting with championship players against him.
McGeehan needs to have a word with himself with the two excellent chances he had.
    Dougall MOTM by far.
    Mowatt reliable as ever.
    Collins brilliant.
Cavare brilliant throw ins and a threat going forward but needs to get back quicker.
    Defensive 3 were immense.
Forwards did their best but desperate for a big target man to attack the long ball when we need to play it.
    Not a penalty
A keeper is allowed to have his body outside the box as long as the ball stays inside, which it did.

Simoes looks like a good player in the making.
    Williams looked a threat.
    Andersen slotted in seamlessly.

A game we could have won with some Championship standard finishing

I thought their following was very poor. 4th in the league, one point off top, unbeaten away all season and only took 774 for a saturday 3 pm game not on TV.

Even Sheffield Wednesday took more on a friday night to Wales for a game that was on TV when they are a two club city and aren't doing as well. To say how well they are doing and their recent premier league history I was surprised they didn't at least bring a thousand like we would have in their situation and thought they were very quiet.
