You, me, we must understand and accept the owners Simply DON'T CARE about our club. I don't think they could care less what division we are in, as long as the business turns a profit they're happy. Anyway, they'll flog it before long, then the cycle of mediocrity will continue. Whoop, whoop!
I honestly don't even know who our next game is against. That's what they've done. Removed any enthusiasm to attend. ... and the thing that really gripes is that I don't think we as Barnsley fans ask for much. We don't want a "chuck millions at it " approach. We just want a chance to compete, but they have bloody-mindedly closed communication down in the most disrespectful way possible - by just ignoring the fans / customers. They are supposed to be business people. I'm hard pressed to find a worse example of customer care.
Just over 35 years for me, and I count myself as lucky in that I’ve seen some massive occasions in that period, promotions, cup runs and Wembley visits. I’ve seen relegation but always had that tempered with the hope I could see us improving, by either changing manager or getting better players. I don’t have that hope at the moment, I don’t trust them to get a better manager than we had, or get better players. The above combined with the contempt I perceive the owners to be treating us with, by at least not attempting to justify/explain their decisions is really pissing me off. I have known bad decisions been made in the past but I have never known them not attempted to be explained. I dont understand their thinking of not communicating on their decisions, or putting their reasoning forward. You can disagree with people but understand their reasoning, but not if they don’t tell you.
Whoever said that needs his eyes testing then . I do sit behind the directors box and Conway upped and left after the 4th goal went in (at least I think it was the 4th but may have been the 3rd) got a few snarky comments from those still left around me. Me I was there to the final whistle clinging to the impossible hope that if we could just get one more back.... Can I just also add I concur with the majority on this thread - though I am not quite ready to throw in the towel as going to games with my Dad is something I have done for close to 50 years and I don't want to stop because of the current fiasco - in any case I already paid for the ST this year Next year I will need to give some serious thought though if things continue the way they are going.
Well at least that clears that up FR. I believe you and glad to see you are not throwing the towel in, well not just yet anyway. Mistakes have certainly been made on the playing side which cannot be immediately rectified owing to the current transfer window rules so we will have to wait until January. On the coaching front, communications have been very poor by our standards so I wonder if there is a culture issue here. If the owners can recruit a coach that can re-invigorate the team they might pull a some of the supporters good will back.
The thing that's done it for me is the total lack of communication. I half expected us to be in the bottom three even if we'd kept Pinnock, Lindsay and Moore. I also thought some of the new signings eg Wilks, Chaplin, Thomas were good signings who might do well in the Championship alongside the bulk of last years squad. In that respect, we may have been unlucky. All I needed from the club was an explanation of why Stendel was sacked, what their immediate plans were and how they were going to tackle it. They were very vocal last season when we were doing well but have gone totally silent now we,re struggling. That galls me more than our actual position in the table.
Thanks for confirming this. I got up on goal four, and saw him leaving too. Was hoping to bump into him in Grove Street....
