Hes not scored for Wigan though beyond that penalty but he's certainly making the most of thus opportunity. Feeling nostalgic for last season hearing his chant!
He's not a bad player, clearly. He's a proven scorer in the third division and has a couple of goals against weak international teams. But I'm not convinced he's Championship standard and his seasons at the level support that so far. Nothing against the fellow, because he gave his all for our club when here and was great in the community by all accounts also. If we got anything like £3million for him I'd call it good business. Bad business was not replacing him.
Yeah it's fair comment, if we got 3m for him that's good business, a big if. And also we replaced him with 2 strikers that also don't score in the Championship. So yeah excellent business.
Making the most of it against smaller nations with the likes of Bale as his team mate. Struggling against stronger sides at club level.
he had a good game overall.... but had enough chances to get a hat trick.... as he did on many times when he was at Barnsley.
Wigan got £4m for Will Grigg who’s basically a proven league one goal scorer who can’t do anything else. Yet 6 months later our fans are happy with £3m for a proven league one goal scorer who’s got far more to his game. Come on lads it’s 2019, fees are going up all the time. It’s an awful bit of business
We don't know if it's £3million just as we don't know how much Grigg went for. But both are third division strikers. I'm sure his head injury lowers the price too. Even he admits retirement was talked about. No problem with his sale, huge problem with us not replacing him.
Good result for Wales. Slovakia lost 3-1 to Croatia today, which means that if Wales beat Hungary on Tuesday they will qualify alongside England for the Euro Finals. No mean feat for a small nation with a meagre squad of quality players.
Yes, excellent result - had a look at national population of countries in same group as Wales - Azerbaijan 10 million - Hungary 9 million - Slovakia 5 million - Croatia 4 million (never realised it was such a small country) - Wales 3 million. Big match on Tuesday - with Bale and Ramsey having had an easy game for us tonight - and youngsters like Morrell (Lincoln City!!) Wilson etc anything can happen. And the red shirt of Wales seems to have rejuvenated Keiffer.
Wales get to pick from a pool of English players that aren’t going to be picked for England and qualify through various relatives. Moore being exactly one of those.
For our club, who paid less than a million for him, so made a healthy profit. The club that without player trading loses money every year. Remember when we had to sell O'Grady? Stones, Dyer, Hignett, Payton before that? Beresford, Tiler, Taggart, Currie, Hirst and so on. Not too long ago we were losing Davies, Butterfield and Vaz Te for about a million combined. And now we complain about getting treble what we paid for a big lummox, a third division forward who helped get us out of there, a player who wanted to get out himself? Good business.
Most of the Welsh and ROI squad are made up of English players. Been like that for years. That's why I appreciate what Northern Ireland achieve.
