Our destiny this season could well be defined before Christmas. Just looking at our fixtures between
the November 23 rd and the 21 st December, with our form being as it is at this present time, it's really
difficult to predict where the points are going to come from viz:

Nov 23 rd Blackburn ( Away), 27th Middlesbrough ( Away), 30th Hull City ( Home).
Dec. 7 th Cardiff ( Away), 11th Reading ( Home), 14th QPR ( Home) and then finally
21 st December Millwall ( Away).

With the best will in the world, at this time, personally I can only see us getting points
against Hull City, Reading and QPR re- our home games.

By the time any new coach can organise us ( if appointed) to win games and bring in some quality
players in during the window ( if the Finance is made available of course), it might be far too late to
save our season. Hope I'm wrong but it's looking increasingly bleak.

It’s my view we are pretty much down already and may as well just prep for next season in L1

We're not capable of being organised. Murray mint has already gone with 3 centre backs to try and make us harder to beat. To be fair he's got a few draws, but we still concede 2 a game, can't mark and can't stop making silly mistakes.

We may as well play 'quite pacy, but nothing crazy' Conway at wing back and Chien 'they're gonna love us in Asia' Lee as midfield dynamo. At least we'd have a good laugh whilst watching the lads get their weekly arse raping.

Either that or make them dress as clowns for the remaining games.

17 pts for me if we keep playing how we've been playing. Deserting the style and panicking will relegate us. If we play through it we'll come out stronger.

I'd take Redders coming in with Nicky Eaden and Tony Sibbick, Diaby and Cavare being dropped Schmidt partnering Woodrow and finding a role for Styles and we'll stay up with something to spare.

Just like we've prepared for being in the championship this season ?
What preparations would you expect us to make for league 1 ?

    I think we are down

we should start planning for next season without:

    Woodrow
    Mowatt

    because they will be sold

    it’s all pretty bleak

I won’t be going again unless I’m persuaded otherwise

Obviously not already down mathematically but it's difficult to see how this situation could possibly turn around sufficiently for us to finish above the bottom 3.
    It's going to get messy!

    Aren't there 30 games left?

Some of the stuff on here is bananas. It's like you enjoy negativity.

I don't think we're already relegated. I'm actually less convinced than last time when I thought it was a certainty from about August.
However, I can't see how we have the requirements to win a game at the moment.

Those two ways of thinking don't tally. Unfortunately the second is reiterated every time we play.

Two thirds of the season to go. Maybe old Gerhard can get our defence to defend.

I’d expect that we well sell Woodrow and Mowatt and any player targets we have will be downgraded as some we could look at in the Championship would be unaffordable. If we are trying to attract fans I’d be looking at announcing reductions in ticket prices.

Not sure about trying to attract fans, seems for to me like the owners are doing their utmost to alienate fans if the last 6 weeks are anything to go by. The damage being done at the moment wouldn’t be erased even by lowering ticket prices.

I think we have reached our optimum fan base and giving tickets away for free wouldn't have much of an effect.
Unfortunately the phase we are suffering now is part of being a Barnsley fan and I speak as someone with 50+ years experience.

The question is who do we sell in January to balance the spreadsheet. This team is being prepared the hard way in championship for a good league one season next year. Where yet again the top 3 or 4 performers will be sold. Its a horrible roundabout we cant seem to get off of. It keeps making the owners a nice profit tho so its not going to change no matter how much the fans moan. Loads on here last year were saying the prefer league one when we are winning most weeks compared to the championship.

I think that it is too big an ask to stay up this season especially with the board silence but what i wont accept is us struggling in league 1.
I want to see Collins J and B Williams Halme Anderson Styles, Simeos Odour, Wilkes, Green, Chaplin get as much game time as possible as they need to be ready to storm League 1 next year and championship learning will help that. Others like Woodrow Mgheehan, Mowatt, Dougal, Diaby, Radlinger Cavare, Thiam, pinnilos will all be cashed in on or off loaded and im ok with that as long as we come back quick and stronger as this current group doesnt look like its going to make it to me.

You can only go on the owners previous dealings when predicting what will happen in January, anything different would be a total shock.

Other clubs will spend a bit of money to strengthen. Wigan already took Moore, what's to say Woodrow and/or Mowatt won't be sold to teams around us.

What's to say someone won't take a punt on one of our keepers? Collins has looked decent.

I wouldn't even put it past a top league 1 side making a cheeky bid and having it accepted.

Let's face it, everyone is for sale, regardless of the timing or the consequences.
