    How is it Scotland have qualified for the play offs. Yet can still finish 5th on points in the group. ?

    Whoever drew that format up. Should be thrown to the wolves. And Whatever happened to a host nation staging the event .. :confused:.

    I think that the Nations League is an absolutely fantastic innovation - so much better than pointless friendly internationals. But giving some of the 4th tier nations a pass into the playoffs, essentially rendering their subsequent qualification matches pointless - is something that needs to be looked at in the future.

    I agree. It seems really counter-productive to the aims of the Nations League.

    Yes, exactly. You get the odd situation that earning promotion to the next tier makes qualifying for the euros next time through the tournament potentially more difficult. As I said, it's a great concept, but certain things have to be reviewed for subsequent tournaments.
