Stern has left the club then. I'm pleased the statement did at least thank him. Good luck Chris. And as you used to say "You Redds!"
Not at all surprising.... but something else to leave a bad taste. Our owners seem able to see the cost of everything, yet the value of nothing.
What a shame. Truly one of the games nicer guys. His love for the Reds was genuine. Good luck for the future Chris and thanks for your support and loyalty.
Dear Chris, we understand you are an extremely nice guy, have connected with fans and players alike and have risked and changed so much personally to relocate to a new country and town that you and your family have settled into. To show our appreciation, we're making you unemployed. Yours separatingly The owners PS Enjoy the up and coming Christmas Markets
To be fair, a new coach usually brings in his own men - so this isn't surprising at all. The statement is a fair one, but just further shits on the 21 words Stendel got.
Suggestion that Daniel could be approached to take over at Heart of Midlothian. Problem appears that it's alleged he's still under contract at Oakwell until the end of the season. Just a thought, if the Jambo's do get him, could Chris Stern end up in Edinburgh.? https://www.nottheoldfirm.com/news/...t-barnsley-situation-could-prove-troublesome/
Headline states DS is an interest to Hearts. Would love this to come to fruition and Chris goes to. Wish you all the best.
My hunch is Tonge is gone as well. The "further changes" comment felt ominous and much different to additions. With Murray coaching the younger uns, where has Tonge got to go? We're not going to have 3 first team coaches and the head coach, surely? And you have to wonder if they are literally scouring around and trying to cobble someone together he's never worked with before. I can see the merit in bringing in trusted people you've worked with intensively, but bringing in people you merely know, at the expensive of people who can help and guide you and are largely held in high regard.... well, that's just another layer of s**t to add to the numerous layers fertilising the realm that is Oakwell, currently.
If he took over I might even consider a roadtrip to Edinburgh to a Hearts match. Especially if there were a few of us......
Who owns them these days? Seem to recall a very odd owner (was he from one of the Baltics?).... don't want it to be frying pan and fire and all that.
