Maybe it's from the same manifesto which says pensioners with less than the minimum wage coming in will pay an extra £400 tax. They are desperate now and playing very dirty.

I cant say I've looked too much into their pledge to grow trees - as many have said it seems a silly thing to get angry about.

That being said - the article says that:

'The Tories want to plant 30 million trees a year, the Lib Dems have pledged 60 million if they win power.'

    It goes on to say:

Friends of the Earth has hailed Labour's plan - which would mean more than 270,000 trees being planted a day - as the most ambitious of the three.

    Now by my maths - 270,000 x 365 = 98,550,000. (98.5Million)

So basically you're getting angry that for every 1 tree the Tories pledge to plant (and every 2 trees the Lib Dems plan to plant).... Labour will aim to plant around 3?

    Weird times we're in.

I didn't need to hear J.C. announcement about the N.H.S. I've been saying it for years. We will lose it once we're out of the E.U.

I was just about to post the same!

We're just about to essentially lose the NHS, but this bloke is horrified that Labour are planting three times the number of trees.

    TREES MEAN TREES.

    LETS GET TREES DONE.

It takes a minimum of three and a half years to get such a decision implemented.

Neither was the WASPI pledge - which was made by John Mc Donnell but it is not included in Labour's manifesto pledge commitments.
They are simply making it up as they go along (like both sides TBF)

EDIT: Contrary to what one or two on here are implying, I did NOT make it up. The BBC, Independent and, notably, The Guardian are all reporting it. Fantasy and smacks of desperation.

What manifesto is that? Actually the example comes from the Corbyn interview. The example was a Pensioner who supplements the basic pension with annual share dividends amountiing to £2000+ ammassed during their working lifewho currently pay lower tax on dividends whilst McDonnell will scrap that and increase to 26% in an effort to hit directors and companies who remunerate senior staff with shares and dividends to avoid higher tax rates. Another ill thought out Labour policy.

Can we get back on point. After all, TREES MEAN TREES.

Why is Boris planting one tree a well thought out policy and our boy Jeremy looking to plant three trees an ill thought out one?

On the tree thing. You say 200 trees a minute as though that is impossible. There was a guy who worked for the forestry commission on the radio this morning. A gang of three of them were expected to plant two trees a minute on average. So even working on your figures that would mean 300 people working round the clock. If we said 1000 people planting then you’d only need day shifts. Double that to 2000 people then they could have holidays. So just on the logistics of planting it could easily be done with the right workforce.
On the NHS thing. If you think that the NHS will not be up for grabs to USA providers after we leave the EU you are living in cloud cuckoo land. The increase in drug costs alone will mean the end of the NHS.

Given Chris Packham was up in arms last week after a local authority cut down swathes of new tree seedlings in error while clearing brambles.... I'm not hopeful our efforts will be delivered effectively and have a huge net positive outcome. We can but hope though!

You couldn't get 10 Billion trees planted in GB
The average oak tree has a radius of say, 15 metres. Giving an area of about 700m^2
2 Billion would therefore cover an area of about 1.4 Trillion square meters.
The area of GB is 200 Billion m^2

We could turn the country into Lothlorien with Jeremy as Galadriel.
