It's a shame Tonge has been thrown to the wasteside. He should have been kept around and I don't see why he's not back doing his old job.

It says Tonge has left his role as first team coach, has he also left the club? Sounds like it with the thanks given but it's not clear.

Was just thinking that, sounds like he's left the club or has he moved into a new role at the club? They haven't made it clear at all.

Sounds like he’s gone. Another link with the town severed.

Won't be surprised if we see Stendel, Tonge and Stern in Edinburgh very soon.

Looks like Murray has his award for stepping into the caretaker role when others probably refused.

I suspect that's the last straw (if they weren't already aware) for many of the players too.

If those 3 reunite at Hearts, I'll likely have more affection for that club than my own.

It's not clear whether he was offered a position and declined it or just wasn't required by Struber. I suspect the former as wouldn't he have been told immediately if Struber didn't want him around? Either way I'm ok with it. Whilst it's a shame as he's from Tarn etc, I do recognise that generally managers want their own coaching staff.

At least the statement thanked him.

But re the quality of the statement and the unanswered question, I'm wondering whether the communications are intentionally opaque and unclear or just unintentionally poor at the moment?

    This.

Murray stepped up when others allegedly declined to. Can’t argue on that basis.

To be fair, it might work out well for Tonge anyway. He’s under contract, so will have been given a settlement and now free to do something better paid.

Don’t kid yourself that BFC have ever paid good money for coaches etc, they don’t.

Wish him well, but I’m sure he’ll go on to better things elsewhere.

Tonge the collateral damage in the Stendel fallout?

Murray's appointment is worrying. I was already thinking that Struber is not very distinguishable from Murray. Dream Team?

The quality and confusion from communications of late has been concerning. They are either none existent, way over the top, petty, use language pretty alien to the typical BFC supporters, or just opaque and difficult to get to the bottom of.

I wonder if article writing duties have either been passed elsewhere, have a different sign off process, or have moved upstairs to ensure dictatorial conformity of non information at all costs.

Whatever has changed, its not in a good way.

Gutted to be leaving. That doesn't sound like he's voluntarily left at this point, but fingers firmly crossed for him that it pans out that way.

    Good luck Tongie.

And now.... someone can turn the lights off.

You can tell he's left officially because Daniel's name can be mentioned again. Good luck to him.

Yes best of luck to Tongey. He was too closely linked to Stendel to survive the change of coaching staff - that was clear when he either was not offered the caretaker role, or turned it down, or didn't want it. We don't know. If he teams up with Stendel and Stern in Scotland, that would not be surprising. There's not too much room for sentiment about these things nowadays - it's a job market. Club loyalty is rare amongst players - they are agents for hire. Wayne Rooney left Everton for Man Utd, Ashley Fletcher scored against us last night and we remember the goal he scored at Wembley...I'd like to see him playing for us again....
