Agreed the fact its recorded weeks ago just takes the shine off it. Wouldn't miss it or any of his shows. Only music programme I watch, keeps me down with the kids. Happy New Year mofos
Jools Holland used to appear/perform in The Young Ones, back in 1982. He gets my respect for that lol.
Having learned that it is a recorded show I am trying my damnedest to pretend it is live !! Have to say that Rick Astley was a winner.
yeah was recorded on 6th December. I always thought it was live until years ago manny from primal scream said on soccer AM that he’d just done the show. Everyone said “what it’s not live?” lol
Yes but who was he playing against, and did he win on the lottery of penalties lol. Ive not watched it tonight but I will catch up with it soon on Bbc IPlayer. I love a good English Hogmanay lol.
Perhaps it's a generational thing ...but I think that Stormzy was crap....admittedly I'm not a great fan of rap but he just looked like a guy performing as a tribute act to the stuff that was popular 20 years ago.
Jools Holland needs retiring. Past his sell by date when he started! Hate his fawning piano pieces with music “celebrities”. Haven’t watched it for years.
Switched it on for about 2 minutes before I realised how garbage he is. Switched it back off sharpish. Pension him off and do us all a favour!
Didn't watch it. No interest in seeing people wishing each other a happy new year as live, when it's filmed three weeks in advance. No problem with the guests as the line up wasn't bad. But to falsely pretend it's live to hoodwink viewers is wrong. BBC had the better schedule though last night with Dame Edna, Graham Norton and Craig David.
You say that, but while his supposed ‘live’ show was being broadcast, Jools was actually in Meanwood, LS6, spiking people’s’ drinks
Terrible line-up last night. Worst one yet, IMO. As someone's just posted on FB - "possibly the best reason yet to review the licence fee". And that's coming from me!
Enjoyed stereophonics and rick astley...thought some of others would have been "paid up" in a working mans club in tarn!! (ha ha)
I always enjoy it BUT I wish he'd stop going round all the so-called celebs asking what their plans and wishes are for the coming year. Asking Vic Reeves becomes a total embarrassment.
