Just watched highlights back on YouTube. Some nice comments from Bristol City fans.. One of best teams they've played at Ashton Gate this season... Should be a top 12 side... Obviously they don't watch us week in week out, but the impression we left was a positive one and it's still the same old story (I.e. played well: defeat). And time running out. Big game Tuesday. Also didn't realise Mads Anderson's kung-fu style attempt at connecting with their cross for the winner. Not his fault at all for the goal, just found it amusing. And after Diaby's failed scissor-kick attempt against Hudds for their goal.. All a bit Jackie Chan
If you watched the game ben William's made a challenge in the 2nd half before he was subbed totally missed the ball and took the man out with a kick more at home in UFC, must be something we work on in training.
Williams was very lucky to stay on the pitch. His own reaction said that he expected something for it
Fully agree, but the big worry is that we are not picking up the points. Some of our players have lost concentration in front of goal e.g McGeehan and yesterday Thomas and its cost us. Not really bothered as to how well we play, it's the points that count.
I missed that although doesn't surprise me! He had a nervy game yesterday so maybe a bit of nervous energy. I thought the challenge on Mowatt in front of the away end looked brutal, would be interesting to see that back.
I agree, I'm just saying it's difficult for their fans to judge us on one game, but the game yesterday left an impression on some of theirs that we are a 'top 12 side'. I think we are better than our position, but our central defensive frailties (and on the flanks yesterday) at present (of which we're all aware) would suggest we aren't top 12 material. Saying that, although they had their chances I thought Bristol were fortunate to win, was an even game and I think we probably just edged it in terms of overall performance.
Haven’t seen it back and it was in the other have of the pitch but for me it was a high ball both players went for it with high feet but Williams was too slow and got their player rather than the ball. Yellow card looked right for me. Especially considering a couple of challenges Bristol made didn’t get cards also though the card for Halme was harsh considering he won the ball cleanly. Wasn’t impressed with the ref.
February is enormous for us. 3 at home and 4 away. Some winnable games in there but we’re really struggling away from home, this has to change in feb for us to stand a chance.
