Seems folk on here have deemed him guilty already. Let’s wait and see, yeah? The guy on twitter that broke the news originally has said it was something in a protein bar that he’s eaten.
5 euros in Amsterdam, seriously though wouldnt be suprised if it was something and nowt didnt dillian whyte fail a test abit back but then cleared his name and Alvarez.
What do we think the situation is with this fan who keeps leaking very confidential info? Where does he stand? Could he get into bother? For example, if I was leaking info to the public about Barnsley Metrodome, would they be entitled to stop me going there for a swim? The fan in question has been lauded by the club in the past for his attending games despite living in Scotland, he's built a bit of a reputation as a wonder fan. Can't imagine the club then will be enamoured by his now In The Know status.
That wasn't the point I was making. There are obviously reasons they don't tell fans everything, probably legal ones in this particular case. So again, do we think this fellow will be welcome at the club?
Yeah I know, sorry for the arsey reply. Incidentally I don't. It's similar to Red Army Chris who used to post on here about internal stuff, but that seemed to end after the takeover, so his man on the inside must have left. I think the club will be pretty annoyed.
It's not the fan but the players/staff that should be getting into any bother. I know that in a workplace if I'm asked to keep stuff to do with work confidential then I dont tell anyone about it. Footballers seem a very gossipy lot!
Also maybe the club needs to look at putting statements out earlier. The minute they knew about Bambo I'd have drawn up a statement, told those who needed to know and then released said statement.
What happens now? He’s allegedly failed a drug test, he’s suspended. Does he have a hearing in front of the FA? When does this happen? What happens if he’s found guilty? How does he prove his innocence?
You're assuming they are allowed though. There will be legal protocol for such a statement. They will have followed that, and the fact a player has leaked what was said in a team meeting which then gets to the press, I don't think they can then stop the press publishing it. I don't know in all honesty. And that's why as a supporter who doesn't know the exact legalities and reasoning behind these kind of decisions I don't automatically jump on the club and suggest they're at fault. I'm a supporter, I love my club so I'd defend it first. It's second nature isn't it? I know others hold different views. Quite a few on this board seem to love sticking it to the club and I don't quite get that.
As I mentioned above, look at the reaction to the statement. The jokes, the people speculating over what he’s taken, the fact that no matter what happens from here on, even if he’s cleared, some will always class him as a cheat or a druggie. Is it really any wonder the club didn’t release a statement until they had to, due to other media speculation?
The club are a bit thick if they dont realise that players let stuff slip. If you issue a statement you are in control. If he does have a knee injury I'm not really sure why they told the rest of the team, that would have sufficed for a reason for him not playing. If it isnt true , then just tell the truth rather than lies.
maybe its not the footballers ? But the point is bang on. Someone has loose lips and is grassing on their club and employer.
As I've just explained, it's got out through someone at the club leaking it, to a fan/the press. As of now, nothing is proven, it's an ongoing legal case. I reckon the club were doing the right thing but have had their hand forced by the leak/press. Again, I don't see why this episode is another reason to dig out the club we support...?
