Last time round they had just taken over, made a couple of signings, including Ollie mcburnie on loan and changed head coach, but we still sank.

2 seasons on, here we are again, and again they’ve changed head coach, but earlier this time around, and have again brought in a couple of new faces.

The squad they now have was mainly put together under their ownership, so they haven’t the excuse of inherited problems this time.

Still a few days of the window remain and also the little matter of 17 games still to play, so a bit premature to properly compare, but we do seem to be heading the same way.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on the current window, and the signings made? Does anyone feel that the owners are keenly working to add more faces before the window slams shut, or are just fiddling while Rome burns?

Rome... My views on Conway and Co haven't changed... The writing is on the wall its just irritating and I guess frustrating that some folk defend their every move... And refuse to either see or accept that the board alone have created this situation we find ourselves in... And then in return blame the coach his staff let alone the individual player... Some of the comments I've read on here what's been said about certain players is shocking...and in some cases disgusting... I will repeat from previous postings it's not their fault that they are not championship ready let alone championship standard... And I will say it again.. Stop falling out with each other
stop aiming your anger and blaming the coaching staff and players
Hold those responsible in the first instance to task....
    I know who I blame...
Once you Wake up and smell coffee..you get to recognise what's bulls hit this board of ours come out with.... Just to pacify us the fans...
In my opinion.. For what it's worth is This lot don't have the club at heart.... Its all about how much money can they make with little or no investment of their own...
Just remember we in their eyes are the fans who keep on giving...
For me it's time they sold up and got out of town... Until then don't expect anything to alter any time soon... That's my view...

Signings this transfer window definitely appear to be chosen by the manager. Two from his former club, the other also from Austria. The board appear to be backing the manager.

They left us with plenty of catch up after the summer though.

No idea why we believe Austrians are the way forward. Knasmulner came and went. Other than his name few will remember a thing about him. Schmidt has had two good touches in two starts and 15 sub appearances. He can play half an hour and not touch the ball. Radlinger has played OK a few times. And badly a number of times. Too early to judge the other two. They may turn out to be good players but both look like they need a lot of acclimatising. Sollbauer shouldn't have played on Saturday, but if he's picked then we're allowed to assess his performance and it was very poor. Ritzmaier has had a few good touches but goes missing for long periods. Both may get better but we really needed players up to speed from the off.

Managers/coaches seem to want to bring in players they have previously worked with. Even Keith Hill wanted his Rochdale gang.
    Stendel his Germans.
    Struber his Austrians.
Which is the best nationality you'd trust to get the best players?

I’m in the “happy clapper” camp but this window could only get worse if we sold Mowatt, Chaplin or Woodrow. Token signings so far that appear to have added nothing to the team other than disrupt it and made us worse.

Seems to me that they have the right idea in buying players to improve them and sell at profit, but the sheer number of players signed in order to unearth one or two gems isn’t improving the team as a whole, and it’s the team we pay to watch.

The first time we get relegated and don’t bounce back will really test them, and the patience of many of our fans.

It amazes me that anyone can defend their way of running the club. It has been proven to be incompetent. There's loads of statistical information available online that proves this. It's even on the club's own website!

In any organisation, the responsibility for performance rests with the people at the top. They carry the can. It's unfair to blame anyone else lower down in the organisation. 3 more sleeps.

In the old days we used to talk about building a team. Now we think bringing players in, improving them, and selling them at a profit, is the appropriate model. No wonder so many of us are falling out of love with it all.

Lessons not learnt on and off pitch , we still persist with crazy defending and making mistakes on the pitch , and off the pitch we haven’t learnt that we need quality and experience to survive in the championship

Can’t judge Sollbauer on one game what do we know, I’d say clearly we need experience of this league not some European equivalent of the Northern Premier

Be prepared if we let Mowatt and/or Woodrow leave in the last 5 minutes before the window closes, then it will be too late to bring in replacements the last 17 games will be painful

I’m fairly confident we won’t sell any of our best players this window (hope I don’t regret saying that). Think we’ll sign a couple more from the continent, most likely Austria and they won’t be ready for the Championship so we won’t be strengthened.
January is usually a difficult window to get in any quality without throwing daft money at it. Our business looks like it will all be a bit pointless in the end. We may as well have persevered with the other squad members we’ve frozen out tbh. Could’ve just moved 2 or 3 out and replaced them with loans in key areas.

I’m quite sure they are working hard to bring in who they believe are the right players.

    That is all.

I'm not a fan at all of the new "regime", but the last relegation wasn't entirely their fault. They had after all bought a leaky boat which had been partially scuppered by the January fire sale / asset stripping carried out by the previous owner. I'm not for giving them any slack at all, as they're very naive when in comes to football, but with a strong squad we'd have been nowhere near relegation as well as being stronger as a club.

We were too defensive last time under Hecky and it rocked the players confidence. This time we can't defend. I think the owners have spent money they just have their own way of doing things in this case which is very naive.

This is just how I feel about the club now, these owners aren't like previous owners who were local businessmen and fans of the club. We’ve seen little improvement of ‘the match day experience’ only successive coaches having the rug pulled from under them and the fans hoodwinked into thinking that the owners want to build our club ‘as a long term project’. It’s nonsense, they’re in for routine turnover of young players to give maximum profit in the shortest space of time. We all know that it’s not the fault of the lads in the pitch that they are simply not good enough but they are there on match day to be vented at not the owners. Lets see how many renew next season once we’re down.

The players are big enough to come over to the fans after games and applaud us, even after heavy defeats such as at Portsmouth. They know that there's a chance they'll get a torrent of abuse. I wonder what would happen if our owners tried clapping the fans publically after games?
