Might be a loan with a view to a permanent deal in the summer.Only a young lad but made 16 appearances for the first team.Gives the coaches time to assess.

I’m guessing it is to give a young lad the chance to settle in a new town. If he settles and impresses he signs a permanent deal and if he doesn’t he can go back home with no shame.

I’ve no problem with him signing on loan. Seems sensible to me.

I’d imagine there’s something else at play here, someone doing someone a favour. The deals bizarre.

If you’re getting game time in the SPL it’s madness to come & be an U23’s player in the championship for a few months.

Barnsley fc are becoming a bit of a championship laughing stock as far as player purchases are concerned imho.
Two hopes of staying in this division and ones called Bob.

Cos his name is Ethan. They think we’ll be happy with an Ethan back in the club.
    It’s an Ethan Pi11ock.

I’d guess it’s a similar scenario to Woodrow

As though we are becoming a laughing stock in terms of player purchases.. Daft comment really. If that was the case, why do so many of our purchases end up leaving for a profit ?

I wouldn't think so.Woodrow was bought ready made so to speak to replace Bradshaw,I think young Ethan is here more on trial to give the coaches time to assess him for a summer deal perhaps.

So many? Your having a laugh here surely? Alright clever clogs, how many of this 30 odd man squad will achieve a substantial profit when sold do you reckon?
Apart from Mowatt, Woodrow, Chaplin, brown and oduor, that’s 5 British players, who’s gunna make the big bucks?

And how many will leave on frees probably like thiam, pinillos etc?

We never do well with foreign players to my knowledge. It’s no coincidence all the better transfers out have been English players bought from English leagues.
Last summer we had our pants pulled down here as well for me, especially for pinnock. Barnsley FC never learn and these ten-Bob billionaires running the show are no different. Sheite at football transfer business if our aspiration is to sell and buy better. Well that’s gone well hasn’t it this season, not.

Think you’ll be struggling to name these great profit making players cept for those I’ve mentioned somehow..

Cauley was signed outside the window for permanent transfers in the Summer of 2018. However, the window was extended to the end of August for any loan transfers to be made. This allowed teams to complete deals with the intent of making them permanent once the January transfer window opened. This applied to both Woodrow's & Tom Bradshaw's transfers.

Transfer record of selling at a profit was pretty good at NICE though

Erm not really as these owners asset stripped Nice as the players you mention were already there when Conway and co bought into that club. They were sold to reimburse our current owners for the outlay of their then purchase.
Not too dissimilar to ourselves as it’s panning out but on a grander scale.

Think you’d be wise to go and do a bit of reading up on our owners actual involvement in OGC Nice before going off half cocked like this tbh. Just a thought...

    Ok let’s play the game...
    Bought them in June 2016
    Bought Dalbert for £1.8 million
    Sold him for £18.9 million
    Maxim bought for £9 million
    Sold for £16 million
Srafi £1.35 million, sold £2.25 million
Souquet £1.1 million, sold £2.70 million

Just a couple for you, perhaps you should do some research before you reply with a half **** answer!
