In what way was that a foul from Sollbauer?? ‘Hand round his neck’?? Er, no Darren. ‘Dragged him back’?? No, Matt. Watch the game, ffs.
Shocking, isn't it. Then people take what they say as gospel and come on here and post about how **** players are.
"What is Matt on about 6 minutes!!! Where has he got that from??".... Well Matt quite a lot of substitutions and time wasting from Charlton as well as a couple of injuries e.g. Charlton goalie after Brown 'brushed him'!
Why don't you volunteer to do it Michael ? After all you have "**** more football" than most other human's have even seen - perhaps you could offer some positive advice rather than having dig - just a thought like! Matt does a great job.
I thought Darren Barnard was excellent as co-commentator today. He pointed out quite a few things from a tactical point of view which were informative. Matt is professional and fluent, just 2 or 3 times in each half seems to be commentating on a different game to the one I'm watching. But I still like him.
Daz Barnard imho was very good with good insight, my mate thought he was very critical....i didnt just stated what he saw.
They watch the match from the back of the stands, no replays no tv coverage. They do a good job most of the times and when they mess up I just laugh.
I think Matt does a great job, i should imagine it’s a really difficult job don’t forget they he doesn’t have the benefit of replays, how many times have folk called for a foul or penalty while sat in the ground and got it wrong when they’ve seen a replay, im pretty sure the majority of fans realise what a cracking job he does
Was just referring to that one incident, where it was crystal clear that there was no foul, even on first watch at full speed. Surprised they don’t have match pictures in the press box though. Darren is, as many have stated, an excellent co-comm.
You have to remember he’s sat in the crowd & hasn’t got numerous angles & people in his ear like Tyler, Carragher & Neville do. It’s a hard job, I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ve been convinced of something at the match & seen it completely different on the highlights later.
It depresses me, as do a lot of things in life - football doesn't though, as in the grand scheme of life it means nothing. Take care all and cheers for the non-constructive criticism which I won't be taking on board. #Alright mate? #It's ok to talk PS: Crack's out of my price range on commentator's wages.
Was watching / listening to Martin Tyler commentating on a game other week . He talks about everything bar from actually commenting on the actual game . Had to mute him in the end
I rarely get to games (living in HK) and the ever-improving iFollow coverage + Matt's commentary is truly a lifeline. I sat behind him at the Sunderland game last year and went and had a quick word of thanks for all he does - I suggest those who are critical, see where he sits and compare it with some of the Sky Sports boxes comfort and visibility. Love to see any of you doing a better job! Also agree that Daz did a fantastic job as guest commentator! I'm sure you read these Matt... As @shed131 says, there are many out there who love you mate!
The OP was a throwaway comment made during the game about a single incident. It was directed at fellow supporters who were listening to the match and posting on here. It wasn't an in depth critique on the commentary team. It doesn't require further comment a week later. FFS
