Does anyone know what caused the fracas in the gangway after the game? I saw about twenty police officers rushing to the scene on the way our out.

Don't know but Lyle Taylor was antagonizing the away end in a way I've never seen before in the first half - he was being subjected to a barage of abuse following a dive, but he turned to us and put his hands on his hips and pretended to laugh for a good 10 seconds. I know at least one of our players took exception to that. Chaplin also gave their keeper an earful when he was down "injured"

Edit: sorry, read "gangway" as "tunnel" as it's been a long day down in South London. Had already left by then.

A load of handbags with the stewards apparently.

what amused me actually was the 30 or so coppers stood poised by the tea bar all second half, they had left by full time for some reason and then had to come running back in like the ant hill mob. The 2 coppers at the back clearly couldn’t be arsed running

I'd hazard a guess that it was the drunken, coked up morons ( not a minority sadly ) who tend to spoil most away days with their loutish behaviour and idiotic racist views.

London is usually the worst place for our fans behaviour. I reckon drinking in a pub at 6 am, on a coach for 3-4 hours of drink, and pre game drinks in a pub before more drinks in the ground doesn't help. Some people can't handle their ale.

The main reason I don't go to away games any more. Drunken, racist idiots at every game.

Can I just say aswell I heard loads of racist abuse shouted towards the Charlton stewards during one of the altercations near the entrance side of the away stand in the second half. Those racist Barnsley fans should hang their heads in shame. Pathetic, ignorant and just make us look like an uncultured and uneducated bunch of loud mouth stereotypical out of touch small towner’s which is what non of us want to be painted as. It’s embarrassing for the 99% in there to be put around that. Fines and punishments aside it’s more about giving a good account of our town and who we are.

Apparently a black steward was told by one of our fans that the fan would only cooperate with white stewards.

I'm sure it isn't all the supporters' fault, but we don't make it easy on ourselves.

That is absolutely disgusting! I so hope those that said that are faced with needing the help of a black doctor or policeman at some point. Cant believe this is being said in 2020

I was at the game and the stewards were helpful, courteous, ordinary people.
