    So tonight in town coppers are within their rights to break up fights by swinging there trunchons round the back of peoples heads. Get real the lads about 16 could have killed him. Copper or no copper cant do that.

    You’re completely into the wrong here I’m afraid. The police are trained to not strike the head unless it’s near enough life or death situation.

    This clearly wasn’t a life or death situation, especially with how the police treated the young lad after and how the bloke who actually hit him looks like he’s realised the severity of his actions.

    Obviously in some peoples eyes police are above the law its abit sad really. Regardless if the lads in a scrap, misbehaving or whatever you cant hit him from behind with a metal trunchon, you can tell in the video with the officers face he knows he has done wrong.

    The video doesn’t show what led up to this. People complain if police don’t take action. I doubt this lad was am innocent bystander. No doubt there will be an enquiry and I hope appropriate action will be taken but if have to take sides between people causing disturbances and trouble and the police who have to deal with this then I know where my sympathies lie.
