In which case, everyone should be searched at every ground then? Disabled as well, no exceptions?

Sorry, I disagree, especially given how few smoke bombs, flares are actually brought into matches.

There is a lot of room for disgretion

They are not targeted. That’s the entire ******* point.

Targeted searches are a hell of a lot simpler to get past than random searches.

It’s called a random search. The entire point is that there is no logic behind who gets searched. How is this difficult to grasp?

If you start adding logic to who gets searched. It becomes easy to get past.

I’m just making a case for disgretion and common sense.

If you think it’s ok to lead a blind person to a ground and both of you be frisked, because it’s policy, then fair enough. I think it’s totally over the top and needless.

I’ve been to games with my son, 23 and he’s been searched and me waved through. He laughed, but he understood why.

Ps ‘brown people’ ??? Did you really just say that??

I think he wants to watch his mouth... or should I say his fingers. He's being rather insulting.

On the nail, dont mean to be " when I was in the trenches" in Iraq, Afghan, N Ireland, all searches are random unless a specific threat as been mentioned, a random search is for deception, confusion, not setting patterns and nobody as a clue who is going to be targeted, and more often than not it works,

If everyone is being searched then everyone should be searched, no exceptions. If it’s random searching then yes, some old and disabled people should be randomly searched too. If you blanket exclude a group from searches then the way to sneak things in becomes insanely easy.

Let me guess, you’re either a steward,

    Or you enjoy getting frisked?

I disagree that it’s as simple as a random search. I rarely miss a game and most stewards are great and show a bit of common, but some just search everyone and they are the ones that are wasting time

If you’re serious about stopping things getting into ground, search everyone, simple as.

I just understand how security works.

It’s not common sense, it’s stewards not doing their jobs.

As I’ve said multiple times, it’s random. That’s the only way you can organise searches. Either random or everybody. If you start being selective, people will know that they 100% won’t be checked. Surely you can see the issue there? With it being random, anybody can be checked. That’s how it should be and how it has to be.

Sorry, disagree. Its not as black and white for me, and some stewards appreciate that.

Which method do you think makes it easier to sneak something into the ground, targeted searches or random searches?

Shouldn’t they search everyone at every game then and just have done with it?

    No room for error then.

First time I got searched at a football match many many years ago it was by a female copper... It was only on her 3rd search of my body she realised Id been returning to the back of the queue to be searched again.... Lol.... At least she saw the funny side of it... That said she wasn't willing to give me her telephone number when I asked her if I could take her out... Lol

I was going into a pub in Birmingham. I was visiting from Leicester, where I was at Poly (1977-1981). I didn't realize the IRA had blown the place up a couple of years before.
I've lived in the USA for the past 25 years and the level of checking to get into events has increased over time, but I accept it (including airports).
I grew up in a world where it wasn't like this, but now it is, so I just accept it and go about my life. Sad, but true.
