Are teachers being furloughed or just sent home on full pay?

    In most schools, neither. They are on rota covering through all term and normal school holidays looking after key worker’s kids and those with SEN or child services register. My partner is a head and they are currently starting on one week on, one week off. Although demands will grow as they start going down with the virus as they’ll be off for a min of 14 days if/when that happens

    Plus when they're not on the rota to be in (covering wrap around care too from 8 til 6) they're setting online lessons every day, emailing parents, contacting the most vulnerable kids, and preparing to work Easter holiday.

    Marking and setting work in secondary schools. No doubt they can be doing curriculum planning too

    Full pay but on a rota to come into school. When at home, setting online lessons for every normal lesson (so having to do a ton of extra planning as normal lessons aren’t suitable to upload as normally you’d be explaining stuff and having discussions for a lot of it). Being accessible via email throughout each lesson time in case students or parents have questions. Marking working and providing feedback via email. Schools open 8am - 6pm for wraparound care. Easter holidays almost certainly cancelled.

    I'm back to school Wednesday after being in self isolation. We are having some of the students back in Thursday on our new rota system (that we dont know yet).
